  1. This live Joe album at the Roundabout Theatre, NY was also really good, and sounds GREAT because it was recorded direct to digital two-track.
  2. Johnny Marr: Comet Tripper - Live At The Roundhouse
  3. A really GREAT power pop album from 1992
  4. This is the only one I picked up today. I was actually at this 2014 show at the Continental Club.
  5. The Waco Brothers: Waco Express Live & Kickin' At Schuba's Tavern, Chicago
  6. Here's the schedule for SFJAZZ's streaming series which includes multiple tributes to Wayne. I believe these were all the shows hastily assembled (with Herbie's help) after he had to cancel his run last January. I got to see the 'Wayne Shorter Celebration Pt. 2' (from 1/3/19) coming up on June 26. Fridays at Five
  7. Just noticed this live album from last year's tour. Pretty much a live version of "Dissolution".
  8. FWIW if you're a 'streamer,' both Compost albums are on Amazon Music.
  9. There's a nice one-hour doc about Tal on Amazon Prime that I watched last week. Looks like it was probably filmed in the 60s, but a lot of nice paying and insight into the enigma that is Talmage Farlow
  10. Charles Mingus - The Jazz Workshop Concerts 1964-65, disks 5 & 6
  11. Peter Evans Ensemble New album “Horizons” available on vinyl and digital formats, late summer 2020 -Features new compositions for quartet with Mazz Swift (violin & voice), Ron Stabinsky (piano & synths), Levy Lorenzo (percussion & electronics)

I've been interested in this re-issue that came out a few years ago. Anyone heard the additional tracks?
  13. It's all taken from a single late night jam that they later cut up, added horns and voice.
  14. Yes - I think that's right.
  15. A good friend of mine is a huge Beatles fan and co-wrote this book about 40 years ago. It's basically a travel photo book of English locations associated with the Beatles.
  16. Never heard of this film before, but caught a few minutes of it on TCM last week and was surprised to see some of these musicians. Not familiar with a lot of them, but a few are pretty obvious. Brubeck gets a few lines and playing a tune. Dave Brubeck - Piano John Dankworth - Alto Sax (as Johnny Dankworth) Charles Mingus - Bass Bert Courtley - Trumpet Keith Christie - Trombone Ray Dempsey - Guitar Allan Ganley - Drums Tubby Hayes - Tenor Sax and Vibes Barry Morgan - Bongos Kenny Napper - Bass Colin Purbrook - Piano John Scott - Alto Sax and Flute (as Johnny Scott)
