  1. I saw the Dream Syndicate and Rain Parade in mid-February. It was last live show I saw.
  2. Thanks - I'll check it out. I see that there are 3 Volumes. Looks like they're loosely chronological: Vol 1 - the 60s, Vol 2 - the 70s, Vol 3 the 80's.
  3. How is that? Sweet can be really inconsistent, and I haven't heard Susanna outside of the Bangles.
  4. More sad about the Selects going away. It was a nice lower cost addition to the big boxes.
  5. I listened to a nice podcast with Roscoe from the National Endowment for the Arts ahead of the 2020 NEA Jazz Master Awards (which were delayed until Aug 20, virtually) Saxophonist, composer and 2020 NEA Jazz Master
  6. Glad to have sparked some conversation about the long, lost Muse catalog. I wonder if it will EVER get a reissue treatment? I got the Woody Mosaic box, of course and there are some Mark Murphy compilations released on Savoy (streaming, anyway. don't know about CDs). I'd really like to get hold of some of the Earland stuff. I still have a few on vinyl, but don't have a turntable setup anymore. Another solid one was Roy Brooks "The Free Slave" which I found several years ago on 32Jazz. Killer lineup with Woody Shaw, George Coleman, Hugh Lawson and Cecil McBee, includes the great tune "Will Pan's Walk" (a/k/a Wilpan's Walk). If Mosaic was in better financial shape, I would try to convince them to release other Muse sets. But at this point I doubt they would be interested.
  7. Charles Earland and a lot of other Muse artists/albums are MIA on CD.
  8. At Big Ears, 2018
  9. Don Dixon, "The Entire Combustible World in One Small Room"
  10. Thanks for posting. VERY cool!
  11. It's listed on the Target website, but with this info: Release Date: Dec 31, 2021
  12. Definitely looking forward to this!
  13. 14 years ago I went to his 75th Birthday Bash at Yoshi's. It was later released on BN. Quite an all star affair including Gerald Wilson, who I was honored to see.

  15. The second album is better than the first Chuck, but not a must-have.
