Justin V Posted October 10, 2019 Report Posted October 10, 2019 (edited) Just finished: John Carter/Bobby Bradford, Disc 3: I bought this single disc from Mosaic after the set went OOP. These duos are challenging. Now playing: Charles Tolliver Big Band, Disc 2: Another single-disc purchase. What a band! Edited October 10, 2019 by Justin V Quote

OliverM Posted October 19, 2019 Report Posted October 19, 2019 Found a copy of the T Bone Walker set locally and really really enjoying it! Wasn't so familiar with this blend of blues and jazz bands. Quote
Jim Duckworth Posted October 19, 2019 Report Posted October 19, 2019 I listened very closely to the Sonny Berman/Bill Harris session today and liked it better than ever. Quote

Justin V Posted October 30, 2019 Report Posted October 30, 2019 Disc 4: Berigan's trumpet is always riveting. This is Mosaic at its best. Quote

Justin V Posted November 9, 2019 Report Posted November 9, 2019 Oliver Nelson Mosaic, Disc 4: This may be only the the second time I've listened to this set in the few years I've had it, but I am loving the Pee Wee Russell album. Quote
jazzbo Posted November 9, 2019 Report Posted November 9, 2019 That's my favorite in this set! I'm not crazy about a lot of the set, but I'm crazy about Pee Wee. Quote
Bluesnik Posted November 10, 2019 Report Posted November 10, 2019 A Mosaic I keep returning to often. Pass is equally capable here on nylon or steel strings. And that's a sign of a very good guitarist. He's paired here manily with Claire Fisher or Les McCann. I prefer the former one. Although McCann is also good in a more souljazzy bag. Quote
