felser Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 It's four aisles to the right, 43rd row back. ← Alan, check again. Looks like the Miles is the 44th row back. 43rd row is the Complete 50's Columbia Recordings of Sing Along With Mitch Miller box set. Rumored that Mosaic and Sundazed are in a bidding war for the 180 gram vinyl reissue rights to that one. Quote
chris olivarez Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 Man, Miles fired that MF and now he's calling the shots? Mike ← I heard the same thing. If that isn't ironic I don't know what is. Quote
Guest Chaney Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 (edited) This set appears in the newest Collector's Choice catalog. To hopefullly save others some time, I called CCM: they don't have the set in stock; it's "on backorder" / to be released November 14, 2005 . Feel free to place your order with the utmost confidence. (I foolishly hoped that I'd call and be told: YES! We have the set in stock and ready to ship! Hope springs eternal.) Edited November 4, 2005 by Chaney Quote
porcy62 Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 (edited) It's four aisles to the right, 43rd row back. ← Do you mean that I have to call him back in order to get my Cellar Door? Edited November 4, 2005 by porcy62 Quote
Free For All Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 (sung to the Indiana Jones theme) It's the box set we wait for. We're still waiting for the Cellar Door! First a month late, then some more! Oh Vin-cent! Oh Vin-cent! Hey Vin-cent! Don't be such a bore! He's your Uncle, that is true. Did you think that he can't fire you? Mr. Wilburn, don't be blue! Oh Vin-cent! Oh Vin-cent! Hey Vin-cent! We pre-ordered, too! etc.,etc. maybe more to come, or not...... Quote

Rooster_Ties Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 (edited) OK, who's in -- $5 a head -- on a pool for when this puppy finally sees the legal light of day in the U.S.?? I'll take Tue., March 21st, 2006 -- cuz that's the date closest to my birthday. We get enough people, and the winner will get a free Cellar Door set of their very own!! Pool closes two weeks from today (so on Nov. 21st). My idea, my rules. Edited November 8, 2005 by Rooster_Ties Quote
chris olivarez Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 AFTER Christmas?? ← Well that's one way of looking at it. On the other hand you could view it as a belated christmas gift. Assuming,of course,it can actually be purchased on that date. Quote
md655321 Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 Any comments on the music from those who have heard it? We might as well get people more excited about it! Quote

bertrand Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 Sony is practically BEGGING people to bootleg this set! Vincent Wilburn is an idiot, and a crummy drummer. Bertrand. Quote
deadcoldfish Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Any comments on the music from those who have heard it? We might as well get people more excited about it! ← Mmmm ... for me, it's a revelation ... I was somewhat lukewarm about this set when announced, but with a chance to listen, I'm blown away ... by Jarret's restraint and choices, Henderson is actually to swing in parts, and pardon my French, but Jack is so killing on this... But the big thing so far is Gary Bartz ... he just plays some lovely things in the breakdowns sections, and Jack responds to him so well ... It's just sad that it's hung up ... Quote
Free For All Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Once upon a midnight dreary, while I listened, weak and weary, To many a quaint and curious volume of Milesean lore, While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. " 'Tis UPS!," I muttered, "bringing me my Cellar Door!"; Alas, it was only Vincent, quoth he "Nevermore!" Quote
Evonce Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 I had the money set aside back in September, but at this point, I'll just add my voice to the Chorus Of Moving On: I do not f*ing care anymore. It's been Basra-ed in my mind - I may buy it if I ever see it, I may not. I'm bloody curious why the formidable Mr. Wilburn is at odds with it, though, and what kind of production contract lets a cornflake get in the way. Quote
