Peter Johnson Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Filled up at $3.09 in Jersey just after I emerged from the Holland Tunnel this morning, then saw $3.05 at the Sunoco three blocks later just before the turnpike. D'oh! Regardless, that's the lowest price I've seen in a while. Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 I paid $2.82 off I80 yesterday in South Bend. Quote
sheldonm Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 ...got off the plane from LA a few hours ago and gas was $2.66 at a station adjacent to the airport in Indy. BTW...gas was $3.45 in LA this weekend. Quote
AndrewHill Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 There's a BP selling gas at $2.45 down the street from me and cars are lined up out on the street. Quote
Joe G Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 $2.20 here as well, give or take. Fortunately I don't have to drive far to get to work. Close enough to bike it in, actually. $2.20 would be nice! I'll be damned - it was $2.18 at the Admiral on the way into work. And yes, I was on my bike. Quote
AndrewHill Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 Its been as low as $2.09 around here. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 $2.76 here. But I've been told that we're always high here. Kind of an isolated area with only one distributor. Monopoly is fun to play, not so fun to live... Quote
sheldonm Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 ...$1.99-$2.03 here in Indy....as low as $1.79 in some outlying areas. I was in Chicago this weekend...suburbs....$2.79...in the city..$3.45. m Quote

BruceH Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 What do you want to bet that, after the election, no matter WHO wins, the price of gas will start going up again? Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 The futures speculators have dropped out an the developing nations have stalled. It will go up again. Quote

Jazzmoose Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 I had a feeling it was getting pretty low somewhere when I saw $2.23 today in town. Must be, what, $ .79 in New Jersey? Quote

Big Al Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Dippin' into the $1.70's around here. Gonna enjoy this while it lasts and hope it never gets as high as $4 ever again! Quote

AllenLowe Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 (edited) well, this new gas situation is leading to a lot of special promotions - the other day I went into my local station and there was no price posted; the guy said "if you can guess the price you can have sex for free." So I guessed and he said, "sorry," and I left. I was driving by the place a few days later with my wife - I said "those guys are offering sex if you can guess the right price, but I think the whole contest is fixed." "Oh no, I don't think so," she said. "I won three times last week." Edited November 18, 2008 by AllenLowe Quote

Ted O'Reilly Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Well, let's see what a Toronto equivalent would be... At a discount gas retailer, C$0.78.9/liter. At an exchange rate today of 1.255 that's 98.9 a liter. A liter is .9463 US quart, so let's say 4 liters is a US gallon, (close enough) making it 4 X $0.989 or about $3.96 a gallon. And Canada is your biggest supplier of petroleum, but you pay HALF what we do! (In Toronto, at least --probably cheaper elsewhere). Quote
