miles65 Posted December 30, 2011 Report Posted December 30, 2011 (edited) Dizzy Gillespie 'Complete Big Band Studio Sessions' (United Archives), disc 2 Would you mind, if it's not to much trouble, posting a track or session list for this set? I would be very greatfull to know especially about the September 12, 1955 session wich has never been on CD in total and the November 8, 1955 session. This is not really a big band session but it is not included in the Mosaic Dizzy Gillespie small group box set nor on one of the CD's devoted to the All Star sessions. This one has Harry "Sweets" Edison, Melba Lison and Willie Smith. I know the two tracks wih Tony Harper are on Fresh Sound. Edited December 30, 2011 by Stompy Jones Quote

Bob_Bobson Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 Art Pepper Complete Galaxy Recordings. My jazz epiphany began with middle-period Art (the Aladdin recordings, in particular, which remain favorites of mine to this day), but it took some time to warm up to his Gotterdammerung period of the '70s. Nevertheless, I took the plunge on the noah's ark collection and am now a thorough convert with no regrets!! Quote
