Uli was manager/bartender for Fred Anderson's Velvet Lounge from 2001 'til the closing in 2010. Since then he followed the music scene in a number of Chicago venues. I most frequently encountered him at Constellation.

Very happy to have met him on a trip to The Velvet Lounge in 1998 or 99.

He was an excellent host and a true jazz guy. All about the music.
