gmonahan Posted Monday at 08:46 PM Report Posted Monday at 08:46 PM I just got back from a long trip (so away from the Board). Like others I was a bit confused when I saw it on the Jazz Messengers site, then very pleased to see it was real and preordered it immediately. I've loved that band for years, especially the Bobcats small group, and I'll be very excited to get the set! Now, if only they'd go ahead and do that Hampton 40s box! Quote

J.A.W. Posted Wednesday at 09:48 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 09:48 AM (edited) This may be of interest to EU residents: the Bob Crosy set can be pre-ordered from Belgian store TYQMusic: Bob Crosby Mosaic I am not in any way affiliated with this store, but can recommend them, great prices and excellent packaging. Worth mentioning in that context is that TYQ will add nationally applicable VAT (some 20%) to the purchase price when shipping to another EU country. At least this is what I was told directly by the TYQ customer service people when I inquired about a different Mosaic set several months ago. Quote
Stompin at the Savoy Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago I got a tracking number today! Quote
Cart Ruckbus Posted 15 hours ago Report Posted 15 hours ago Set 173 just arrived (and I just placed my order three days ago!). Seven tracks in and loving it so far. All the music will be new to me. Two Connee Boswell tunes already put a big smile on my face. Thank you, Scott and everyone at Mosaic for this unexpected joy. Quote

I've ordered several sets from them and they never added anything other than shipping. But don't take my word for it, just ask TYQMusic's owner, Mark Steyaert. Quote
Big Beat Steve Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago (edited) That's what I did. IIRC the reply came from Mr Steyaert himself. I asked him about the total cost including shipping and he told me VAT at that rate of some 20% would be charged too. Was I surprised? Yes! Edited 2 hours ago by Big Beat Steve Quote

VAT is added when the sets arrive in Belgium and is included in the prices on TYQMusic's site. [edit] When I put the Crosby set in my cart it shows that the total (including 12,50 euros shipping) includes VAT: Subtotal €139,00 Shipping Flat rate: €12,50 Total €151,50 (includes €24,12 VAT estimated for the Netherlands) Edited 1 hour ago by J.A.W. Big Beat Steve Posted 59 minutes ago Report Posted 59 minutes ago Unfortunately I do not have the e-mail exchange with TYQ anymore in my e-mail folder (all this happened in 2024) so I cannot check now. And it may also be that the mail I received was sent ON BEHALF OF M. Steyaert. I remember his name figured in the mail somewhere. I can only say that I inquired at TYQ as I intended to place an order and wanted to find out about the total including shipping because the TYQ prices DID seem very correct to me. So I really was taken aback when I received that message that VAT had to be added on top of it. Following your explanation (the way it has been explained to you by TYQ) it now looks to me that there will be NO VAT added to the list price + shipping costs by TYQ. I therefore retract my earlier "statement" and stand corrected. @Everyone else from the EU on this forum: Please disregard my earlier post. Quote
