  6. Ah I didn’t notice they will come out in these series. I’ve got a few of them and they are excellent. No silly limited edition kind off stuff but very well done and affordable reissues.
  7. Kenny Barron's trio with guest vocalist Tyreek McDole played a wonderfully intimate set. Maybe not the most intimate setting, but that's ok. A really tight group, and Barron continues to have the ability to weave really long lines. Plus, I want to know where Jonathan Blake shops for shirts! The one word that nobody seems to ever use to describe James Carter is UNAPOLOGETIC And God bless him and his band for that. It was aggressively unapologetic 313, and it was some of the most spiritually nourishing music I've felt in years.
  8. I might be interested but possibly already own most if not all of the releases contained within the set. Could you please let me know the titles contained before I make a decision one way or another? Thank you!
  9. I don't recall Analogue Productions ever releasing this album. I believe it's the Music Matters 45 that you have, correct?

  11. No, Jazz Dispensary is a Craft Recordings reissue label. The Jazz Disepnsary Top Shelf Series has been around since 2017 and their releases are of exceptional quality. Here is more about them. https://jazzdispensary.com/about/
  12. Saw Mike LeDonne and Eric Alexander at the Jazz Bistro last night. Some really great music. LeDonne was on organ and really went wild on a few numbers. They were selling a double CD due to come out in a few days, which comes with an unreleased set from 2004! With the same line-up! I managed to get Eric to sign a copy but not Mike. Will be swing by the Rex a few times in Sept., and indeed I might go tonight or tomorrow to see Mike Murley, but not sure just yet. In a few weeks there is a Coltrane tribute with Kirk MacDonald and Pat LeBarbara, and I'll want to go see that once or twice, and indeed I probably ought to reserve a spot for later in the week, as this often sells out... The new CD is on Bandcamp but not officially out for a few more weeks: https://mikeledonnegrooverquartet.bandcamp.com/album/turn-it-up-live-at-the-sidedoor
  13. Gunter Hampel Quintet: Heartplants. SABA POCJ-2672 [Japan 1999]
  14. I wonder why this wasn't a part of muse masters? Is Jazz Dispensary the same guy as the Muse Masters Maestro?

  16. Sorry I never got a chance to listen Ken, but work never cooperated and when it did, I was immersed in the latest Adelson murder trial on youtube. On number 9, I should have realized it wasn't Gene/Three Sounds by the bass solo which happened so rarely on their records and when Benny Green was ID'd I was sure it was on one of the Japanese CDs he did of Blue Note/funky 60s jazz. But again no time to investigate further and get that one.
  17. I've seen Perry play multiple times with Maria Schneider's orchestra. I never did pick up any of his Steeplechase CDs over the years.

  19. These? Yeah... I don't think I could even consider those. My wife would never allow them in my house. In this case, I think I'd agree with her. I don't think they look very good.
  20. Another delightfully cool morning.
