  2. Frank Strazzeri made some fine records in the 70s for Revelation, Discovery, and Catalyst. This "reunion" record is quite good. The Lennie Niehaus Fresh Sounds dates are also worth tracking down. 2 studio dates with Perkins and (on one but not the other, Jack Nimitz).
  3. Just to be clear: It's not an A>D to a D>A conversion within the phono preamp, it's an A>D conversion for either PCM or DSD (your choice) within the phono preamp, and then output digitally to the DAC and converted to an analog signal there.

  5. I read someone mentioning the Concord Maybeck Hall series of cds so I pulled a few out to revisit. This one now: “Toshiko Akiyoshi at Maybeck” Concord cd It’s very good.

    Robert Johnson

    That’s pretty cool.
  9. That sure looks good. I have been a fan of the partnership of Tyner and Hutcherson, which happened many times over the span of their careers. I would have liked a version of "African Village," but this record certainly looks like a worthy addition.
  10. Robert Johnson as you’ve never heard him before
  11. Tomeka Reid Quartet: Dance, Skip, Hop
  12. Disc 2 - Music of Bill Evans - with Special Guests Eddie Gomez & Jim Hall
  13. Definitely interested, though the CD prices were on the high side. Maybe things will settle down after RSD is over. Any idea if there will be digital release eventually?
  14. Dave Burrell And Bob Stewart: The Crave (Play The Music Of Jelly Roll Morton And Dave Burrell). NoBusiness Records NBLP 100 [Lithuania 2016]
  15. I was re-reading some old correspondence with one of my University of Chicago friends about jazz (he’s one of the best pianists and guitarists I’ve ever befriended and had been a music professor at Yale, and is now a music professor at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor). So I decided it was time for some “Chicago Style” so to speak. Eddie Condon Town Hall Concerts, Vol. 10, Jazzology 2 cd set, first disc
  16. I didn’t realize this is a first time release. Might be interesting for sure 👍
  17. That might be more interesting.
  18. Thanks for the heads-up, @felser!
  19. Red Records put this one out without any advance hype AFAIK. I'm in, of course, and I'm sure many others here are also.
  20. Yeah, Earland, JH Smith, Lonnie Smith, Reuben Wilson, etc. I play Earland's "Happy Cause I'm Going Home" in heavy rotation to cheer myself up.
