  4. Bummer I will be elsewhere for new year so will miss Cookers.
  5. I'm way way behind in listening to tracks in this thread. This one is excellent.
  6. Planning on Lovano and Pelt but way too early to buy tickets. I will also go to the Cookers if I am in town. Bummed that I already have a ticket for something else on 11/12. Would have liked to see the Army Blues. I worked with them on a Herbie Nichols Big Band project. But a lady I know said she got a ticket for a gig on 11/12. Any pseudo-date works for me as dating is going nowhere.
  7. Pick one out for me.
  8. Never had any clear jewel cases in a set before. If they did a small run of the Clark I wonder if they used a different supplier?
  9. Week 20 picks https://doorfliesopen.com/2025/10/16/cfl-beat-253/ I hope you will note that I am now tied for second in the pool, two games out of first! My picks... Blue Bombers over Roughriders - The Riders have clinched first, and will be playing their subs this week. Lions over Elks - The Elks will be eliminated if they lose. The Lions might clinch second if they win. The Lions have been the better team recently, and they are at home. But with it all on the line, I expect the Elks to do very well. Alouettes over Redblacks. The Als have a small chance to finish first if they keep winning. Stampeders over Argos - The Stamps have been the better team, but we won't know how seriously they will take this game until we know the results of the Bombers and Elks games. ***** Canadian all-star candidates https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/16/7-canadians-that-need-to-be-named-to-the-all-cfl-team/ ***** MOC candidates https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/16/most-outstanding-canadian-watch-who-will-win-the-award/ ***** Game Notes https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/16/game-notes-what-you-need-to-know-ahead-of-week-20/ ***** Week 20 previews https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/16/4-storylines-to-watch-in-week-20/ https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/16/3-keys-to-victory-for-saskatchewan-winnipeg-in-week-20/ https://3downnation.com/2025/10/16/saskatchewan-roughriders-officially-name-qb-jake-maier-starter-against-bombers/ https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/16/3-keys-to-victory-for-edmonton-bc-in-week-20/ https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/article/mgk-to-headline-112th-grey-cup-halftime-show-in-winnipeg/ https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/article/redblacks-name-adams-starter-at-qb-for-week-20-game-against-alouettes/ https://3downnation.com/2025/10/16/ottawa-redblacks-rule-out-qb-dustin-crum-will-start-tyrie-adams-against-alouettes/ ***** Playoff Scenarios https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/16/112th-grey-cup-playoff-scenarios-stamps-bombers-eye-playoff-spot/ ***** The Grey Cup's halftime show will include MGK, Our Lady Peace and Catie St. Germain. https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/16/mgk-to-rock-bud-light-grey-cup-halftime-show-at-112th-grey-cup/ https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/16/our-lady-peace-to-headline-siriusxm-grey-cup-kickoff-show-at-112th-grey-cup/ https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/16/manitoba-native-catie-st-germain-to-deliver-national-anthem-at-112th-grey-cup/ https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/article/mgk-to-headline-112th-grey-cup-halftime-show-in-winnipeg/ https://3downnation.com/2025/10/16/machine-gun-kelly-mgk-to-play-112th-grey-cup-halftime-show-in-winnipeg/ ***** And here's a reminder of recent Grey Cup halftimes. https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/16/10-of-the-last-grey-cup-halftime-shows/ ***** *****

  11. At this point, I have no objection to unlimited disclosure of performance enhanced (Shazam) information. Still hoping Tim Webb avoids spoilers and gives it a go.
  12. A few concerts have been added, but there is no subscribable season, just individual concerts. Gregory Porter and the Cookers are respectable. I will admit I bought a ticket to Joe Lovano. https://www.kennedy-center.org/whats-on/explore-by-genre/jazz/
  13. This will be a "please take my money" release for me.
  14. Ace Frehley, guitarist for the rock band Kiss has died. A few weeks ago, he fell while working in his home studio and suffered a brain bleed. Kiss was the first rock concert I ever saw, probably around 1977 or 1978. Ace was the star of the show, with his special "solo stage" that rose up into the spotlight as he soloed. It was a performance as much as a concert. I saw Kiss live several times when I was a big time rocker and they always delivered the goods. I think my tinnitus is partly due to these concerts. When the members of Kiss put out individual solo LPs simultaneously, Ace's LP was the only one I bought. Kiss Guitarist Ace Frehley Dead at 74

  16. Thanks, I'll try to buy direct if paperback available. I try to avoid Amazon if economically feasible. University Press distribution is weird. I see occasional U. Press titles on the shelves at that same shop, but apparently small special orders are too expensive. Then again, the last U P title I remember actually buying there was Krin Gabbard's book on Mingus, which would have been 8 or 9 years ago, so the situation may have changed.
