I just want to ask you musicians about that great tune. Of course I know the form of the song, but is it true that for the solos most musicians omit the last 4 bars ? I have listened to some records, one of it by Clifford Jordan and the Magic Triangle, and one by Bud Powell. Sure I also know the Miles Davis version, but that one is in Eb and I have to play it for someone who want´s it in F. So please, tell me if I´m right and on solos you just play the form, but not the last 4 bars, or am I wrong ?

It was written for John Patton's wife Ellen Brooks who was also from NC but apparently not related to Tina as I wrote here

He was a great hockey player and a lawyer, member of parliament, an author, and no doubt much more. 6 Stanley Cups, the last 4 in a row. -

I heard the Harold Vick tune Our Miss Brooks at a gig on Friday. Could it have been written for Tina? Vick declines to comment on the title in the liner notes. Of course it was also a radio then TV show with Eve Arden. I always liked her. I would like to see the show.

I would appreciate Elemental using period images of Pharoah, rather than shots from the 1960s... -

Today, a (just turned 15) piano prodigy, Juilliard student Taige Wang. Played Bach's French Overture BWV 831, a couple of pieces by Chopin, and Liszt's extravagant Réminiscences de Norma de Bellini – Grande fantaisie, S394. It was good. -
