Sonny Rollins sitting in with a high school band in Harlem.

Great man, great stuff. Sonny was in my opinion always an educator too, making massive donations to music programs, Oberlin College of recent, comes to mind. -

Everybody's favorite drummer Peeter Uuskyla is offering his full digital discography (60 titles!) for merely €61 (plus bullshit taxes for EU residents) this week only on bandcamp. A lot of really good stuff there, including many duo and trio albums with one Peter Brötzmann: https://peeteruuskyla.bandcamp.com/

I'm actually on that record too...

Wow, this disc is sounding phenomenal today–deep and resonant sound! From 1958, when stereo Capitol records were produced with excellent sound. “The Ballad Style of Stan Kenton” Capitol cd

Jazz T Shirts, or lack thereof
jazzbo replied to Rabshakeh's topic in Jazz In Print - Periodicals, Books, Newspapers, etc...
I too have dropped pounds and now the T-Shirts I have of this series are bigger than necessary! Too bad, but not too bad. -
Will these get the clearance treatment some day in the future like the others did? I wouldn't pay $35 a piece but if they were 1/2 that plus shipping I'd consider it. (And I am pleased to say that the ones I did get on close out are fitting quite a bit better since I dropped the poundage and are back in regular rotation. Will probably start running them thru the drier cause I don't really need them to keep their size anymore.)

Moving on to some Mingus I have not heard in a long time. Mingus was something else! “CHARLES MINGUS IN PARIS – The COMPLETE AMERICA SESSION” 2 cd set disc 1

After Pepper and maybe Hamiet we are left with doublers. No way it's Mulligan or Carney.

Rachel Musson is a great tenor saxophonist. Her recordings on matchless with Eddie Prevost are great. Under the Sun is incredible with the *great* N.O. Moore on guitar. -
What rock music are you listening to? Non-Jazz, Non-Classical.

Losing Weight - Ozempic - Diet/Exercise?
Ken Dryden replied to Dan Gould's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Investing a meeting with a dietician can prove very illuminating. In early 2018, I was around 241 lbs. I started counting carbs by meal, 45 to 60. Eating more fiber with meals helps slow down glucose absorption. I dropped sugary drinks, pasta, white bread, fried foods, most desserts (when I do enjoy them, it is after lunch rather than dinner) and got all the way down to 192 lbs. within a few months. I was hungry all the time, so I now try to stay in the 210-215 weight range at 6'2".
