If it was Valerie Carter, she was the pits, as was the equally forgettable funk band backing her. When I was going to rock shows, rarely did I care for the opening acts. - Today

I learned something the other day. Historically (I think we are talking about Roman times here), a stadium had seating on opposite sides of the field. A field encircled by seating was called an arena. ***** The Rules Committee has decided not to change a) how kickoffs are performed, and b) the automatic first down by recovering an onside kick beyond the line of scrimmage. https://www.cfl.ca/2024/05/17/cfl-strikes-subcommittee-to-study-kickoffs/ https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/dave-naylor-cfl-forming-subcommittee-to-study-potential-kickoff-changes-1.2122312 https://3downnation.com/2024/05/17/cfl-kickoff-rules-unchanged-in-2024-subcommittee-formed-to-examine-future-changes/ ***** May 15 Checking Down https://www.cfl.ca/2024/05/15/checking-down-gittens-jr-fully-practicing-in-edmonton/ ***** East analysis https://www.cfl.ca/2024/05/17/costabile-one-player-to-watch-on-every-east-division-team/ ***** West analysis https://www.cfl.ca/2024/05/17/costabile-one-player-to-watch-on-every-west-division-team/ -

I have the Russian reissue that mhatta speaks of. It was a Half Price Books purchase. Greatly enjoy this album. Teddy Edwards is indeed an asset, but so is Ray Crawford. -

Nope, sorry, try again. I will say this: the trumpeter on #1 also plays on #12 of this BFT. If you're curious about Preminger, you might want to check out Michael Feinberg's "Blues Variant" (also on Criss Cross). Preminger plays on it, and the band does a version of "High or Booze." https://www.crisscrossjazz.com/album/1413.html
