  1. I have been "Bixed" - check out the Radano book about Braxton.
  2. Sent again. Jim, let me know if this one arrives.
  3. I was a fan from the beginning but need to put that money into my own stuff. If I didn't have my "own stuff" to consider, I would think of my family first. Hard to believe they have so many well heeled fans.
  4. I have held a couple of grudges for a long time. They could be the reason I am still alive. The key is where you hold 'em.
  5. Cheating a bit - listening to a cdr I made of 2 Musicraft lps by Georgie Auld. Great early bop band.
  6. Any money not taken by state sponsored Lotteries would be sopped up by the numbers man at corner or barbershop.
  7. How did I miss the Hammond Zone. Sorry.
  8. This is organ stuff. Maybe one of the mods will move this to its proper place and maybe Jim will respond.
  9. I think they reviewed all the lps. Only one snarky review, most of them 4 stars or above. I have copies of all the reviews and need to get them scanned. They also did a feature review of the Art Ensemble box in 1993 and then it stopped.
  10. Let it go. I did not come from "outside".
  11. Not sure what this really means beyond making me smile. That has to be good enough.
  12. What were Lester's and Roscoe's reactions? We all looked at each other and went away. Not an unusual reaction in the '60s.
  13. Everyone needs to get a drink, sit down and relax.
  14. We can supply that but it will not be inexpensive.
  15. The Morgan/Tyner date was done to be mixed with 3 tracks from the Slice of the Top session to make BN 4241 (not issued).
  16. When it was new many of us got it in the $10-25 range. I see I got it for $14.89 delivered in July 2008.
  17. On vinyl, yes - but for the first of the CD releases of these sessions on Blue Note Michael Cuscuna already kept the sessions intact. I always thought they sounded great in session order. Can somebody remind me how these were released on CD the first time around. Were all 4(?) sessions released on four CD's? Or, rather, how many separate sessions were there? - and did each one see a separate CD issue back during the McMaster era? The only one I still have is the "No Room for Squares" with the complete session that Andrew Hill is on -- but in retrospect, I kinda wish I had all of the 'session'-centric issues of this material. No Room For Squares - Morgan/Hill - 8 tracks The Turnaround - Hubbard/Harris - 6 tracks Straight No Filter - Byrd/Hancock - 6 tracks PLUS Morgan/Tyner - 3 tracks
  18. What you might want to consider is having the Mbari cover on the inside fold of the cd cover so that one could "fold" the cover inside out and have the Mbari cover showing instead of the Arista/Freedom cover. I did that with a Monk reissue on Columbia. Done and gone. Buy a copy and check it out. The disc sounds fantastic.
  19. I am pretty sure all the stuff by ST has made it to US cds.
  20. Hope it was a lucrative gig.
  21. Interested parties can hear a sample of the original mix here.
