Note that in your orinal post, you said "both" Candid sessions. I replied that there are more than 2 sessions, not albums. So are we talking about: Charles Mingus Presents Charles Mingus Mysterious Blues Reincarnation of a Lovebird ? Mingus recorded only twice for Candid - Oct 20 and Nov 11, 1960. This material is now spread over 4 discs. The best material is on the 2 original issues called Mingus and Charles Mingus Presents Charles Mingus.

I knew all these folks back in the day and never got the records. YMMV.

Planned/announced but never issued was a Counce set. Have all the material on lp and cd but it would be nice to recognize the body of work.

Whenever listening to these sessions (and some other Riversides) I always wish for different mike choice/placement/mix. Many of these are tough.

I have cut off about 1/16th off and am still alive.

I sure hope these releases are legit. Firstly because I want good clean copies of some of this stuff from "the source" and secondarily because this is competition for my releases. I welcome legit competition. I just don't want to lose business to thieves.

He's playing Friday and Saturday nights with Dave Rempis and a bunch of other good musicians. Hope to see some of you there.

UPS delivered my book about an hour ago. From a quick scan I can say fans of this period will not be disappointed. It made me wish I still had a bunch of those lps. This is a large hardback book and weighs a bunch. Perfect for any coffee table in any living room. Well done.

Muhal Richard Abrams, George Lewis, Roscoe Mitchell, Uncle Skid, Ann (my wife) and I were spotted in a "Buffalo Wild Wings" a while back.

It is a private list - you have to be invited to join in, even to read it. The point Allen is making is MF does not want anything from the list repeated anywhere. A few members have forwarded messages to me with the strict order to keep it private so they won't get in trouble.
