  1. Thanks guys. My schedule would be fairly flexible. I'm in sales. My entire territory would be Loudoun (thank you for correct spelling), Fairfax, part of DC, and eventually Prince William. We have some thinking to do. "Soul-crushing" traffic could be the deal breaker.
  2. Hey everyone. I have been presented with an opportunity to transfer within my current company to th Northern VA(Loudon, Fairfax), DC Metro area. This would also be an excellent job market for my wife. Now, throwing everything else aside for the moment, my main concerns are the increase in cost of living and traffic. Exactly how bad is it on a day to day? I grew up in Richmond. My dad pretty much refused to drive north. Weighing my pros and cons here... Thanks.
  3. Your videos are all great. Agreed on how easy and natural you make it look! You have my support! Soon. I need to buy the new organissimo album too!
  4. "Ok. Shall we noodle at the beginning?" "Yeah."
  5. Oh absolutely. The same goes for so many of my favorite musicians.
  6. I have a lot of catching up to do wrt official dead releases. It's a perfect afternoon for The Pizza Tapes, boys! I love my stereo.
  7. But he didn't see his family again until seven years after leaving for basic training, at which time he was internationally famous, and a very different man! That's all I meant.
  8. Dude goes off to basic training and come home famous.
  9. Revisiting this set over the past couple of days and I somehow never watched the DVD! A lot of fun. Bootsy does a great job. What strikes me, time and again, is how level-headed and "regular" Jimi truly was, versus the pop icon and myth that I grew up imagining. I haven't read any reviews of this set, and didn't click on the link above, but I just can't imagine how anyone could be disappointed in this set! It inspired me to pull the purple velvet box down for another marathon!
  10. I have discs that have just simply disappeared. They aren't in the player, that I can imagine... They've just disappeared. Still have the case on the shelf in hopes that the discs will turn up.
  11. You're breaking my heart
  12. Happy Birthday Lazaro!
  13. Happy Birthday Niko!
  14. Thanks all. Two kids home sick with ear infection and strep! C'est la vie! Laissez le bon temps rouler!
  15. You not feeling it Quas?
  16. That song would have been a great opportunity for a Nilsson/Hazlewood collaboration.
  17. I've been wondering how your move was going! Great news and welcome back.
  18. Hard to believe I hadn't known Harry's music two years ago. I play A Little Schmilsson In The Night daily. Nilsson: The Life of a Singer-Songwriter http://amzn.com/0199756570 is available for pre-order.
  19. I own one Mosaic set, and I received it as a Christmas gift one year.
  20. How do you guys feel about Ronnie Boykins in the Chicago scheme of things?
  21. I love listening to bassists, especially solo. How about another Chicago bassist: Fred Hopkins? Oh, Ronnie Boykins! Not to turn this thread into a list of bassists, but I think Henry Grimes is also in this league of bassists who played their part extremely well in many settings. Yes to Richard Davis, and yes to double bass solos
