    CD-R

Fascinating!! (at least it's not April 1st) going to try this on some of my discs that don't play (If I can remember which ones they are). So, this works on both CDr's & commercial discs?
  2. that makes sense - The FMR CD booklet looked cheap - often wondered if it was legit - the CD does not appear to be a CDr
  3. I have an FMR CD of Morning Glory - was released in 1995
  4. Someone should snap up the FMP double "Live In Berlin" - highly recommended IMHO live at the "Quartier Latin" (Free Music Market 1971) - was originally released as 3 FMP LPs
  5. That's good that they're are completing some of the artists - will have to add these to my list BTW, "Windward" Passages was in the second Murray box A Bobby Bradford set would be nice IMHO - that would include 2 John Carter releases (4 discs in toto)
  6. Just had a listen - it's also present on my copy - gotta listen closely as it could be easy to miss
  7. Does anyone have a current email contact for Hazel - I attempted to contact her a few months back (last September) but have had no reply as of yet ogunrecords@googlemail.com -> is this still current? Where on Facebook is this posting - couldn't find anything re this new release after multiple searches
  8. SME's Karyobin on Chronoscope but that's all going to change soon with the upcoming Japanese release Derek Bailey/Han Bennink Organ of Corti CD 09 (was Incus LP)
  9. Not totally Jazz but I'd love to be at this years "All Tomorrow's Parties" (April 15-17, Pontins, North Wales) https://www.atpfestival.com/events/atp042016/lineup There are a number of jazz participants - Sun Ra Arkestra, Alan Wilkinson, John Edwards, Steve Noble, Han Bennink, Evan Parker, John Russell, Steve Beresford, Tania Chen, David Toop, The Ex Also if you're into folk, Shirley Collins & John Kirkpatrick (he & The Trembling Bells are doing the "No Roses" LP) I'd also like to see Rocky Ericson, The Raincoats, The Fall, Thurston Moore, Shonen Knife Dave Graney & The Necks are coming from Australia
  10. thanks for the link - all the Blue Note titles can be downloaded as MP3's - unfortunately the link to the CD takes you to the old Charly version (The Apartment Sessions, Vol. 1) which contains only half of the titles
  11. I'd say Tom has indeed updated the discography from this information
  12. Check this link http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~ux5t-oois/records.html find Catch Me (1963) then click on Details then at very bottom of this page click on Please Check at #20-1 to get info on Mosaic set I think this is the information I gave Tom a few years back to update the Pass discography BTW what is the version of Lord you are using?
  13. their limited edition "Fridge" box set from 2012 was a marketing hoot Only 10 copies & cost $100,000 (100, 000 pounds in the UK) - wonder if they sold the lot? http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2013/10/the_residents_s.html
  14. My favourites are Third Reich & Roll, Meet The Residents & Not Available At one stage it was rumoured that Don Van Vliet was a member of the band They played here in Brisbane in the mid 80's - memorable concert (tophat-eye phase) - probably around the time of the Tokyo tour (with Snakefinger) - he wasn't present at our concert though
  15. thanks for the link bichos - all previously unreleased choice material - will get this with my next import CD order
  16. Looks like Karyobin is going to be released in Japan in March (a bit pricey - 2667 yen) http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/UICY-77702
  17. Blue Note released 5 10" LP's of Garner's recordings (recorded in Timme Rosenkrantz's NYC apartment? in late 44-early 45) Doesn't appear these are readily available ATS They have been released over a few CDs from the Chronological Classics series, the Danish Official label (3LP or 2CD) & Charly (Le Jazz) has released half of the tracks on a CD called "The Apartment Sessions, Vol. 1" - doesn't look like they ever did a volume 2. This would be a lovely reissue project as there were also other titles from these sessions released on other labels (Dial, Selmer, Century) - would be great to have all of this material together. Interesting to see what will be reissued in the future since Martha Glaser (Erroll's manager) has donated a lot of his material/recordings to the University of Pittstburgh - the "Concert By The Sea" is a good example of a well done job.
  18. Thanks all, had a feeling it was going to be a dud
  19. Anyone know what this release (late last year) "Ornette!! +3" (Octave label) Listed on CD Japan & HMV Japan but no details http://www.hmv.co.jp/en/artist_Ornette-Coleman_000000000001054/item_Ornette-3_6680501
  20. I was a big fan in the early 70's (when i was 15) & lasted till the late 70's - loved those first 5 or so albums then the Berlin Trilogy with Fripp & Eno involvement (Low, Heroes & Lodger). Lost interest in his work after that. Been playing my Ziggy Stardust vinyl this evening - heard the news a few hours ago I found him more of an alchemist rather than an innovator - I used to have arguments with bowie fans in the 80's re this RIP Davey Jones
  21. RIP Paul
  22. I noticed the "Be-Hive" when i ripped the set to ITunes last week - even pointed it to my partner - I couldn't stop laughing BTW anyone having problems removing the discs from their cases, especially Disc 2 - had to break one of the tabs to finally release it (I'm overcareful these days as I have split a disc in the past trying to remove it - one of the Ellington sets if I remember correctly)
  23. I think the SHM version of Black Orchid (3 Sounds) has a previously unreleased track "Over The Rainbow"
  24. yes please - more Bill!! Fresh Sound have done a double Savoy (early 60's material) that includes all of "Modern Windows Suite" but omits "Motivation" (1972 recording)
