  1. I might be wrong, but I don't think any of the recordings included on Donald Byrd/Doug Watkins - The Transition Sessions are live performances.
  2. As I followed the breaking news on this event, I saw numerous outlets reporting that Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg was scheduled to be on that flight, but she changed her plans at the last minute. Frankly, my initial reaction was "so what?", believing that a COO is no more important than the people who actually suffered in this accident.
  3. JO-EY, JO-EY, JO-EY, JO-EY, JO-EY !!!!

  5. Although you can listen to streaming media of Donald Byrd Live at Montreux from July 5, 1973 on Blue Note's website, it is not available for download.
  6. How did you come to the conclusion that the HDD is incompatible? Did you check with the HDD manufacturer? Did you use Disk Management in Windows 8 to locate the HDD? It might show up there, but not be assigned a letter. Also, when you run Avast!, you have the option of running a "removable volume scan". Does your HDD show up there? A Google search reveals problems similar to yours with every new OS. It appears that often the issues can be resolved by downloading updated software/drivers.
  7. Actually, it was issued in 1977 on Timeless: And then re-released on the Timeless/Muse label two years later: A good album, for sure, but it pales in comparison to the aforementioned Convergence:
  8. Welcome to the board, bdamusic. The particular forum you posted this thread to is dedicated to "suggestions, feedback, comments concerning the organissimo forums". I encourage you to check out the titles and descriptions of the other forums on the board so you can post your contributions where they are more relevant, and therefore are more likely to spur interest and discussion. For instance, this particular thread would fit nicely in the "miscellaneous music" forum, where it would most probably receive more attention and feedback. Btw, I love Bermuda.
  9. This is old news. Video killed the radio star back in 1979.
  10. If only it would reject the whole press release.
  11. From the New York Times: Chet Flippo, one of the deans of pop music journalism, whose profiles of artists like Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Tanya Tucker for Rolling Stone magazine in the 1970s heralded vast new popularity for country music among broader audiences in the United States, died last Wednesday in Nashville. He was 69. His death, after a long illness, was announced by the country music cable channel CMT, where he was editorial director. No cause was given. Mr. Flippo covered a range of subjects for Rolling Stone from 1970 to the early 1980s, including John Lennon’s legal troubles, the Rolling Stones’ bacchanalian tours, Bob Dylan’s serial reinventions and Janis Joplin’s 10th-year high school reunion, in 1970. 12. I went to the site and copied the image location myself. Here's the result: My link: http://eil.com/images/main/Sonny+Clark+%2D+Leapin%27+And+Lopin%27+%2D+LP+RECORD-364272.jpg Your link: http://eil.com/images/main/Sonny+Clark+-+Leapin" +and+lopin'+-+lp+record-364272.jpg I think somehow you're copying the links incorrectly, since there seems to be a break in the link you tried to post.
  13. Sorry, I just deleted my post after I edited it by successfully copying a Sonny Clark jpeg from that site. Can you post the link(s) that were giving you a problem?

  15. The Montgomery Brothers in Canada was reissued in 1998 as part of the CD "twofer" Wes Montgomery - Groove Brothers, along with the 1960 Fantasy release The Montgomery Brothers.
  16. I'm afraid not. Bluesoul omitted the second sentence in the paragraph: The bonus tracks here essentially make up an entire second album, capturing eight songs recorded earlier in 1961 at the Cellar, a club in Vancouver, British Columbia. This Canadian set — originally issued on Fantasy as The Montgomery Brothers in Canada, includes Buddy Montgomery on vibes, Monk Montgomery on bass, and Paul Humphrey on drums.

    Sam Most : RIP

This will change your mind about jazz flute, now and forever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c_ufaxeSTs
  18. This reminds me of my older brother playing his clarinet. He was terrible, and so my parents encouraged him to practice in a space farthest away from the rest of the family. Unfortunately, this turned out to be the upstairs bathroom. I can still remember the screeching sound bouncing off the tile floor, tub and walls, reverberating throughout the house. Although that was nearly 50 years ago, I recently brought it up with my parents and asked them, "What the hell were you thinking!?"
  19. No, Larry borrowed it. He's going out tonight. But seriously folks, it's not enough for pants to be the right waist and length. They have to fit in the seat (what's left of it, anyways), the thighs, etc. My advice is to go to a tailor and have your pants altered to fit your body. It might not be cheap, but you deserve to have clothes that fit you. You'll look better and feel better. I guarantee it!
  20. According to the HP website, this 6-cell battery fits the G70 & G71: KS524AA. There's also a 12-cell extended battery, but it sticks out of the bottom, raising the back of the laptop: KS526AA. Of course, there are non-HP equivalents that cost a fraction of the MSRP.
  21. Don't laugh too hard, he's an alto saxophonist from Chicago.
