  5. Bring back in-car record players, then we'll talk.
  6. Without quotation marks or credits, this reads like it's something you yourself wrote. Since it's the first two paragraphs of Howard Mandel's article, word for word, I think you should be clear and credit the author.
  7. This is the one I want to find:
  8. So this woman gets "a zillion dollars" while you're still trying to raise funds for your latest recording. Gee, life isn't fair. That doesn't make her any less talented, and it certainly doesn't make her "extremely unfunny". I'll support your musical efforts, Alan, but I won't attend your pity party.
  9. No, what the NFL cannot afford is to continue covering up what they knew about head trauma injuries and their failure to act on that information, all for the sake of business and profits.
  10. Strange that you think of Don's viability in terms of his capacity to score hit records. Better to look at the quality of the music he created (employing the likes of Marcus Belgrave, John Patitucci, and Mel Torme over several albums), as well as his contributions to other people's music as a producer.
  11. Where do you get a buck and a half? It's $5 for the first item, which isn't bad at all.

    Kirk Knuffke

I've enjoyed Knuffke's previous outings with Jesse Staken on SteepleChase, but I agree that his two releases on Clean Feed (Big Wig and Amnesia Brown) are more to my liking.
  14. Just to be clear, the Nimbie USB Plus (NB21) is Acronova's new Blu-ray/CD/DVD automated burner/ripper with USB 3.0 interface. It retails for nearly the double the price of the unit I'm considering, the Nimbie USB (NB11).
  15. You're right, of course. I suppose that's why some/most people use professional services that perform this function. Still, it would cost me much more than $500 to have them do it, and I doubt they would do a satisfactory job with my obscure and out-of-print jazz titles.
  16. Disappointing response to my inquiry: Hi Rob, Thank you for your interest in our products. So far, there isn’t any review done on Nimbie by mainstream tech sites. Nimbie are reviewed mostly by customers and users based on their experience, perhaps you can check out some reviews below for your reference: amazon.com/Acronova-NB21 musiciansfriend.com/Acronova Nimbie NB11 amazon.com/Acronova-Lightscribe-Duplicator-Publisher If you have any question regarding to the Nimbie, feel free to let me know. Sincerely, Calvin Liu Acronova Technology, Inc. TEL: 732-422-1868 FAX: 732-698-7939
  17. Yes, I ran into the same trouble when looking for customer reviews. I've sent the company an email requesting help in finding customer and professional reviews.
  18. Ripstation 7601XDp $1395 Holds 100 discs, just like the Nimbie VinPower RipBox25-S1T Reg. $625 can be found for $499 Dig the robotic arm! Only holds 25 discs, though.
  19. I'm considering purchasing an automated ripping station for my 4,000+ cd collection. Most products are for professional use and cost well over $1000. The Acronova Nimbie NB11 pictured below is less than $500 and allows you to load up to 100 discs at a time. Most likely I would sell it on eBay or a computer/audio board after ripping my collection.
  20. I've never thought of it that way. Neither have I thought of it as a chance to get a rare or limited edition title. I've used it as an opportunity to visit a local record store, spend some money to show my support (c'mon, Dan!), and wax nostalgic about "the good ol' days".
  21. Solo Don Pullen. Only $1.56 with coupon.
  22. With all due respect, I think what you're REALLY hearing is the sound, not the music. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that, but bear in mind that the music experience is always there, regardless of the advanced (and in some cases questionable) sound reproduction.
