Matana Roberts - Coin Coin Chapter 4. I've found the previous three chapters fascinating in their distinct ways so looking forward to this
Giusseppi Logan Quartet - s\t. First stereo pressing. As much for Milford Graves as for the leader
Nice cover.
Interesting list of 'related titles', I know Ornette's influence ranges far and wide but...'The Shape Of Muswell Hill To Come' perhaps
The Kinks
Dmitry Shostakovich
Live Wires - history of electronic music
Five Years Ahead of My Time - Garage Rock from the 50s onwards
Arnold Schoenberg
A good watch it was too. Certainly gave respect to the subject. Left me wondering how her health is these days. The modest circumstances mentioned upthread seemed evident.
I've seen him with Tim Berne and been impressed. There's a duet album with TB that I keep meaning to sample.
The run of albums on Pi are worth your attention. I often find them a challenging listen but in a good way, knotty compositions always well played by well chosen musicians. I find it quite cerebral music but that's just me. Notvmusic to whistle along too perhaps but none the worse for that.
I enjoyed the Springbok v All Black match. Cheslin Kolbe could be the star of the tournament if SA go deep. All Blacks were the All Blacks and will yet again be the team to beat.
I don't like Jones's England very much but will be cheering them on nonetheless. My remote Irish heritage means I will be wearing green on occasion too.
I hope we get some surprises along the way. The Pumas nearly did so today. France are always so unpredictable.
The early morning timings in the UK aren't great.
Similarly, Anthony Braxton and Larry Ochs (Fictive Five) have dedicated tunes to other artists. Are they to be branded with partial charlatanism for doing so? Maybe this is only a "crime" if you're playing not up to snuff at the same time.
Thanks for making this point so well. It needed to be said.
To bring the conversation back to Rempis, I've generally preferred KV when they play together. Happy to be in a minority on that.
Just two weeks...I'm hoping they use Royal Mail rather than another courier with no pick-up option as it's bound to arrive on a day I'm in the office rather than working at home
What do I need to know about the Olduvai?
Actually just found I can listen to it online.
Absolutely. Why enjoy the last days of summer outside...TMS on the earbuds, racks dutifully perused in three shops (two first visits) within half an hour of home.
Taken by the number of original Tubby Fontanas I could have bought, five at least. People off-loading before the boxset
Iltar - s/t [Tiwa, 1977]
took a punt on this in the local shop this afternoon. Very DIY, including sound quality, but it has something about it. A freer Prime Time perhaps, perhaps not
Steve check out Olie's playing with the Riverloam Trio. I think that will be right up your street.

Also see if you can hear 'Immune to Clockwork'. Excellent but maybe less up your street. I'm guessing here from what I've read you enjoy, obviously

I'm more than happy to be advertised to. I was listening to the first album a few days ago, prompted by the FreeJazz review.
Order made. Looking forward to hearing it.
