As long as you have at least one in your queue on your monthly "ship" date, you're fine. Make sure you do this, or they'll bill your credit card anyway, and not ship you anything (or so they claim). I have about 20 things in my queue, but some aren't "hot" or need-to-have-now things. Just things I think about... edit - Oh, and if there are things you KNOW you want, you might be better off putting them in your cart and purchasing them now, instead of queueing them up for 6 months down the road. Never know what they'll suddenly stop carrying. I missed out on the Bobby Hutcherson "Now" disc because it was in my cue for last month, and they deleted it from their inventory the day before it was due to ship to me.

Someone tell me I didn't just see Kenny G on stage with Lynyrd Skynrd.

Fisherman hauls in 124-pound catfish ALTON, Ilinois (AP) -- Tim Pruitt went fishing and pulled up a whopper of a beast. No, seriously: It was roughly the size of a sixth-grader. Pruitt, casting his line in the Mississippi River on Sunday, hauled up a 58-inch long, 44-inch around blue catfish that weighed a whopping 124-pounds. To get a sense of just how big that is, the state record holder was a mere 85 pounds and the world record holder tipped the scales at 121 pounds, eight ounces. "My adrenaline was really pumping, so it wasn't that bad," said Pruitt. "Later on, when I was lifting him out of the livewell and into another tank I really felt the weight." Now, Pruitt, whose fish has already been weighed in the presence of a conservation police officer and measured by a biologist for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, is expected to submit documentation to the International Game Fish Association so that it can be certified a world record holder. Once that's done, the catch should be approved as the world's largest blue catfish, replacing the current champion that was caught January 16, 2004, in Lake Texoma, Texas, said Becky Reynolds, a spokeswoman for the association.

bump... I just recently picked up the RVG of "True Blue", yet already have the Spanish Blue Note version. Figured I'd buy the more "legit" versions of these discs as they come out. But given the limited nature of these Spanish Blue Notes, do y'all think the value of these will go up in the future? Is it worth my time to keep the Spanish Blue Notes that I have?

Birthday wishes from South Texas!! Thanks for all you do for us! (...i got this cake cheap cuz it has the wrong age on it ) -
Nash shoulda been called for a technical at the end when he grabbed Horry who was about to inbound the ball. Manu played a great game, all around. Parker played Nash solid, as well. Suns don't play the tough defense that the Nuggets and Sonics did against the Spurs. I think that's gonna be their downfall, nothing wrong at the other end of the court. Duncan's foul troubles (pretty petty calls on a couple of them) contributed to the Sun's comeback tonight, I think, but hats off to the Spurs for winning the first two on the road. Why is the next game in this series not until Saturday?

I feel like I should buy a Jan Lundgren album, due to sharing his last name....LOL Let me know your impressions, Mark, if you get to hear him play at all.
-
It looks like his three chins are all pointing in different directions...

Are you sure you purchased Night Dreamer from either yourmusic.com or BMG? I don't believe they've ever offered the RVG version of this, perhaps not the previous edition as well. It's not on their website at present at any rate.

Is there a new Star Wars movie coming out?
Aggie87 replied to Jim Alfredson's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
I'm still in the pack of people who think on balance this was a great, fun movie. I also enjoyed Attack of the Clones, despite Christensen's "acting". The rest of the cast however, are the equal of the actors in the original trilogy, if you ask me. And I can even enjoy Phantom Menace, if I pretend Jar Jar's accent isn't in it... These movies are SUPPOSED to be fun, sci-fi/action flicks. Why treat them as more than that? If you look that critically at the first three, they might not withstand the level of critique-ing that is going on with the newer ones. -
I'm REALLY enjoying this disc! Anyone interested in modern, intelligent, well-made rock would do well to check this one out. I don't know that they're really prog anymore (or if they really ever have been?), but definitely make music that someone open to progressive rock would enjoy. Also due out very soon on the PT front are two other items - a re-release of "Up the Downstairs", with newly recorded drum tracks replacing the original drum machine, and a second disc comprising the rare "Staircase Infinities" EP. And they are also releasing "XM2", a limited edition CD of live-in-studio recordings. Porcupine Tree's previous disc, "In Absentia", is available at yourmusic.com. Also just noted at yourmusic is one of Steven Wilson's (many) sideprojects, Blackfield, which is a collaboration with Israeli musician Aviv Geffen. Blackfield opened up for PTree in 2003 in Germany, and I was impressed with their music as well.

Yes, that IS where I picked up this disc. Good memory you have (and talking like Yoda, I am!) I have not played this recently, so I'll have to dig it out and give you my impressions later. I don't recall it being a poor recording or anything along those lines, though.

I was able to see this movie this evening, and think Lucas did a wonderful job resolving all the loose threads and story arcs into the original series. This was a FUN movie, and very well made, for what it was. I think Hayden Christensen may not be a very good actor, but then let's be honest, Mark Hamill wasn't, either. And I'm a fan - I was 12 when the first came out, so the perfect age to get hooked into this series. I also got to meet Hamill, and got his autograph in '77 on a promotional tour of Japan. But Christensen certainly had the menace and anger down in this flick. Even I could feel it seething through him. Okay, maybe it's more the dialogue part where he has his issues... Big thumbs up for Episode III. I haven't liked all the marketing and overkill, but I agree with Sal, the movie itself will be worth picking up on DVD for repeat viewings... -
Saint-Saens Symphony No. 3 (Organ Symphony), etc.
Aggie87 replied to Peter Johnson's topic in Recommendations
Peter - This was one of my father's very favorite compositions as well. I have treasured memories of him "air-directing" this in our living room when I was young. I have two versions of this already - the Philadelphia Orchestra directed by Eugene Ormandy (RCA), and a Berlin Philharmonic recording, with Pierre Cochereau on the organ at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris (orchestra directed by Herbert Von Karajan, on Deutsche Grammophon). But you've piqued my curiosity enough to order this version. PS - Lon, I've found the Munch, two Reiners, and a Rubinstein Living Stereo discs at yourmusic. What am I missing? -
He was funny as Mugatu (?) in Zoolander, I thought: He was also an amusing Mustafa in Austin Powers...

I just tried one of these today for the first time. It reminds me of a generic, store-brand diet cola.

A couple from the rock world: REO Speedwagon - You Can Tune a Piano, but You Can't Tuna Fish Joe Walsh - The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get Joe Walsh - You Bought It, You Name It Chicago - Chicago VIII (*self dignity preservation mode on* I own none of these, by the way)

Spurs took the series 4-2 last night. IMO it was a GREAT game, hard fought on both sides. Ray Allen is a warrior, and I hope the Sonics aren't foolish enough to let him go in the off-season. Daniels played a great game as well. Fortson got away with a cheap shot against Ginobili late in the game again, his reputation is deserved, I think. Duncan couldn't buy a shot all night (except from the free throw line), but when the game was on the line he was able to score the game winning basket on a great pass from Ginobili. Unlike in Game 3 when he clanked it off the rim. I don't know that either the Suns or the Mavs will be as physical with the Spurs as the Nuggets and the Sonics have been so far. But either way it should be a great series coming up. Hats off to the classy Reggie Miller!

I'd be curious to see whether you get a promo copy or not, GA. Please share when you receive it!
