I liked Belladonna quite a bit. "Frozen" is my fave on there. Brian Blade and Brad Mehldau both play on there.

Standards is a special record for me -- I love some of those quirky little melodies. The production trickery is just subtle enough to make it a genuine part of the music, without seeming cheeky. I have seen them twice. The live impact of those tunes is worth seeking out. Two drum kits, two sets of vibes, keys, guitars, basses, etc. The most recent time [last month, actually] was with Daniel Lanois. Tortoise opened, and then they backed Lanois. Cool. I wrote a ridiculously long review on my BLOG.
  4. Can you say causitive fallacy?
  5. John Zorn oops, other way around.
  6. I've made several panic orders in the last few days. Pared down my queue quite a bit. ← And just made a panic order of Mother Ship to boot since it told me there will not be any copies available by the time the next queue slot ships. Guy ← I can't even get Larry Young to show up in a search. Didn't have it in the queue either.
  7. I see it on the regular BMG website but not on the yourmusic.com site. They ought to put it on both. I still have a membership in the regular club, but have ordered only once in the past year...
  8. I received a copy of the Relaxin' Miles Davis SACD hybrid, and there was a flaw in the disc. I sent them a note saying that the item was defective, and that I would be glad to send them this bum copy, should they provide postage. I have done this a time or two, and they always say "no need to send us the defect." This time, they said they will be sending me a label to return the item to them. Have I crossed over into some probationary group? Is this a new policy?
  9. Have any of them even shipped yet?
  10. The last four Fillmore sets on eBay have closed at $405+.
  11. Soul Samba is the fabulous.
  12. Yay! Finally.
  13. Looks great, but where is Solid Air??? ← It looks like Solid Air will be remastered with one bonus cut. Where is the cheapest place to get these, when I live in the states?

I pulled Nation Time off of the shelf this morning and proceeded to have my mind blown AGAIN on the walk to work. What time is it? NATION TIME!
  16. Moroder-produced BeeGees.
  17. Man, I remember 6 or 8 months ago when things were being added left and right. Now not only a dry spell, but things are disappearing.
  18. I see that 9 of the Fillmore 10 disc sets have gone for $300 or more, with one closing at $710. One is currently at $455. I am all about letting the market setting its own price, and the fairness of eBay and all [i have used it to my advantage in the past]. Something just seems a bit off about the whole thing. What would Jerry think?
  19. Wasn't organist Eddy Louiss in the group as well?
  20. One that I would recommend is Emiliana Torrini's second album, Fisherman's Woman. Listen to some samples. Top notch singer-songwriter. And I don't lend a lot of time to that, generally...
  21. Works for me! I am currently between versions of this album, so it will be good to have it back.
  22. Are you sure? Song titles: Pimp The Ho Ain't Nothing Like Pimpin' Pimp Shit Pimpology Pimpandho.com What's A Pimp Pimpin' Ken Pimp Life And from his album Shorty the Pimp: Shorty The Pimp
  23. Nope. yourmusic.com has the picture for the MoFi of "Steamin'" but they ship the regular K2 CD. FWIW, I generally prefer Steve Hoffman's DCC remastering jobs as well... well, at when comparing redbook CD. However, I have yet to hear a regular CD that's sounded "better" than an SACD version of the same title. There have been several discs where there was little difference between the two, but never have I said, "That CD is better than the SACD". There's also the fact that the DCC gold CDs have been oop for many years and that there is a bit of "cult market" that has driven the prices very high. In my opinion, get the MoFi now before it goes oop and you'll have the best currently-available version at a reasonable price. If you have an SACD player, you'll probably have the best version to date. Kevin ← I just checked, and the title I was thinking about was Relaxin'. And then I ordered it.
  24. Maybe they would offer the 10 disc set as a download? That would make sense, no?
  25. Today I got the newsletter in the mail with details on the 3CD set. I think one of each of the tunes on the 10 cd set will be on the 3cd. I may be easier to digest that way. [Or maybe I am telling myself that becuase I was too slow to pre-order... ] I think some of the Dick's Picks are set up that way, anyway. There will be no perfomance duplications with Live Dead on the 3cd set, either.
