  3. Unless you are cuttin' a wax cylinder, that is! Or, the direct-to-disc thing might be another exception.
  4. I was at the BNBB when it started, then Jazz Central Station, then Jazz Corner, back to the BNBB, and now here! Never been a serious AAJ poster.

  8. Agreed! I may, however, have to make an exception when Peter Brotzmann and Evan Parker are in town this month. I might ask them both to sign my copy of Machine Gun.
  9. I'dont do it anymore, with one exception - Ornette when I saw him this spring. He signed my mini-lp version of Free Jazz. Cool! I knew a guy that would bring every single CD book by an artist to have them sign it. It seems that there is something different about taking what is a cherished item for one signature vs a whole stack of things.

    iPod nano

Ah crap. Apparently this is quite a problem, not isolated to a few cases. Looks like I'll be waiting.
  15. That Clare Fisher sample of Lennie's Pennies is BURNIN'!
  16. If this is true, it seems to be happening pretty late in the production/distribution process. There are already a lot of copies floating around for review, promos, etc. If they were going to stop it you'd think they'd have done so long before this point. They (Sony/Legacy) must have gotten permission to release this already, wouldn't you think? Or did they already own the tapes and didn't need permission from the estate? Any other examples come to mind of something getting pulled at the last second? ← Basra?
  17. I think this is available at iTunes.
  18. I spoke to the person that actually videoed the sessions this week. I may get a chance to see them!
