  1. I'm going to play devils advocate. They might possibly not be aware of this boards existence though I do find that hard to believe. Why would they slight us is it because of that Larry Young brouhaha? What they could be guilty of is not doing their homework or they could be guilty of some incredibly stupid high school shit. At any rate every time I log on it seems like organissimo is adding on new members and having new unknown parties checking out the site. So what I'm saying is let's worry about our own buisness and let Blue Note stew in their own juices.
  2. Is he still doing anything with Irakere?
  3. Wow- that sounds good. Where did you hear about it, Chris? Any idea what year it's from, or what songs were on it? Jim it was on the Claus Ogerman box set "The Man Behind The Music". It was recorded in 1977 and featured players that made a lot of Ogerman sessions Michael Brecker,Joe Farrell,Nana,Joao Palma etc. Ogerman was quoted as saying that the track came from an album session that unfortunately and for various reasons was never released. Ogerman went on to say that he played it for Jobim who loved it and wrote the most enthusiastic liner notes for it. Ogerman said that Joyce can only be described as a genius. The support that Joyce had from Ogerman and Jobim speaks volumes does'nt it. The song that made the Ogerman box is called "Timelessly" and I can't get it out of my head.
  4. Unlike Dan I know nothing about Florida so this is just a matter of curiosity. What about the club scene near the University of Florida or is too far,too weird or too whatever?
