Thanks gents for those messages and sexy pics Two nice discs were given as presents and a bottle of Ardbeg and I took a trip to York with my wife for tea and a mooch around. Gran Turismo 4 was keepin me up til 3am (only had a PS2 for a few days and Joanne bought me this game) where I managed to cane a new Tuscan, a 60's Pontiac GTO and a NSX around Laguna Seca and it's infamous 'corkscrew'. Swapped ends a few times though hitting those corner exits haven't been on my bike for a few days because of the snow around here but we had an almighty thaw last night, the rivers high and we're back to autumnal temperatures. I have a whole load of driving to do tomorrow so I'll hit the road agin on Monday in earnest. Shake off those Christmas pounds...or is it Euros??? Thanks for the note Flurin, you'll enjoy the disc immensely. Happy new year everyone, make it a safe, happy and healthy one.

My son gave me the most amazing picture I've ever been presented with (I'll have to take a pic and post it tomorrow); a collage of tissue paper and foil chocolate wrappers made out to be my car. He spent a l-o-n-g time creating it with his mum last week. Also received the Band Of Brothers box which I'm about to embark upon now -- essential vewing even if I will go to bed upset.

I'd like to say a big thanks to the fellas from the band for running this board yet another year and giving us all a cyber home to hang out. Seasons greetings to all of the board members whatever your faith (or lack of ) an hope you all have a peaceful, safe and loving time. to everyone -
2005 brought me to Tina Brooks in a big way, his small but perfectly formed collection of Blue Notes is on heavy rotation in the house, on the iPod and in the car. Early in the year I was bowled over by the remasters of Miles' Live In Antibes etc. These still enjoy lots of listening time mainly due to George Coleman's gorgeous sound. At the time of writing I'm still devouring my recent acquisitions from Jackie Mac's and Bobby Hutcherson's BN backcatalogue; they'll keep me in meat and drink for a while to come. Lastly, but no less important this year was my introduction to a couple of BNs from Wayne Shorter that were missing from my collection, in particular Et Cetera. Happy days indeed.

Doesn't this do something nasty though when hungover/dehydrated? I remeber reading that because you have this alcohol stored latent somewhere in the body unable to be absorbed through said dehydration. You think "mmm, lots of water" only to allow the booze to course through your bloodstream again and possible get you phished once again. B3 sounds good though, with gravy naturally

What live music are you going to see tonight?
tonym replied to mikeweil's topic in Live Shows & Festivals
Richard Ashcroft and Coldplay tonight in Tyneside. -
ooooo.....interesting choice!!! I picked this up when they did those 2K remasters and listened to it avidly for weeks but have not sine. From what I remember Rebirth is a killer but I'm not so keen on the eastern-ethnic instrument piece on koto, mainly because of the instrumentation. I'll dig this out later, probably tomaorry as I'm off to see Coldplay live later today.

Done it but it couldn't find the vilage I live in so I'll retain a certain amount of anonymity.

I wonder what the incidence of board members with sleeping disorders is like here? I'll bet it's quite high; I too keep 'odd' hours most days of the week and find myself awake for no apparent reason in the dead of night. Without trying to preach, if we bear this in mind, the more we can do to be supportive and tolerant of each other will only be a good thing. Don't fall out fellas....since weeding out some real dickheads here, the place seems such a nice place to visit.

Speed of a Car: C'etait un Rendezvous
tonym replied to Mr. Gone's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Something we can agree on! Next time you watch it, notice how many times a white firebird shows up during the chase scene. I think a bug keeps re-appearing as well... And the Charger lost about 6 hub caps too!!! -
yeah, does anyone actually live in Iowa? What's there of note? At least now though, I know what the Oklahoma Pan Handle looks like.

Well at least there's some consistency, that's the same motor as the 275. -

You can't even imagine trying that now, even in a provincial town, nevermind a city!!! very impressive, if somewhat insane, driving. At times it looks like he's making his route up as he goes along. The V12 yowllllll.... amazing given that this 'supercar' only has 280 bhp; mediocre for today's boxes. -
