That is interesting - i didn't even realize that "wolfgang's" existing separately from Concert Vault - thought it was the same thing. Confusing. My account credentials work at both places.

Weird, this looks like a new interface - I am seeing the same Concert Vault as the last couple/few years. Still www.concertvault.com? I'd certainly be up for buying that Tramps show for $5

Couple of films I have heard Grant Green and Lee Morgan!
Eric replied to andybleaden's topic in Jazz Radio & Podcasts
Oh yeah on the Morgan. -
Awesome. I don't have a huge blues collection, but it is dominated by Albert King. LOVE that tone!

We may have to wait a couple weeks ... Oddly, I hardly bought any new music last year ... but a few I liked and continue to play: George Coleman - A Master Speaks Will Vinson - Perfectly Out Of Place Orrin Evans - #Knowingishalfthebattle (I love everything he puts out and had a chance to tell him so at the Jazz Showcase!) The Cookers - The Call Of The Wild And Peaceful Heart Misha Tsiganov - Spring Feelings plus two on the rock side of things: The I Don't Cares - Wild Slab (delightfully sloppy) Alejandro Escovedo - Burn Something Beautiful

I find it of some nominal interest. Possibly it gives you a sense as to how well a box is selling. Possibly. Maybe it appeals to the collector in some /all of us to score a low number.

I'm not much of a clothes guy and that is what struck me. Lean and mean, undoubtedly backed by a high level of self-discipline. Something to aspire to ...

Seconded. Always had a soft spot for these two. Both Amazon and iTunes have as downloads. There is a Japanese CD of Crankin' for $606.39 (plus $3.99 shipping) on Amazon ...

Yeah, but then I have to buy them versus using my crappy but functional tethered headphones I don't have much interest in spending $159 (i.e. for the AirPods) to fix a problem that I don't have. Among other things, there is a reasonably high chance that I would lose/misplace one/both of them on a fairly regular basis. Example - I listen to music in bed and often fall asleep when they are in. With the AirPods, chances are one/both pop out, fall on the floor, get lost in the sheets, etc. during the night. This isn't a life and death issue. It will delay my move to the 7, which is likely the opposite of what they want. I will use the dongle, probably lose it several times, probably buy a couple extras for the cars (not all the vehicles have bluetooth). Plus there is the whole issue of not being able to charge and use the dongle at the same time. Apple basically giving me the finger for driving an older car and refusing to upgrade to a bluetooth radio.

I think about running - doesn't happen all the time, but my tethered headphones do pop out occasionally. Having to stop and look for the damn thing just once will be a pain - if I can find it at all. I don't get it either. "Taking away something useful" is not the same as "creating something we don't yet know we need" ...

Yeah, I didn't mean to mute your enthusiasm! I had high hopes for this one - maybe too high. I was hoping for more of a snarling guitar fest. So part of my reaction is really more "too much Jagger" and not enough of Keith and the guys.

I think I fall in the YMMV bucket I have listened to it a couple times and to me it sounds like a competent, if somewhat sterile blues album. Nothing wrong with the Stones putting it out and if helps bring attention to the genre, great. I don't think it is either a remarkable Stones or blues album.

And a score some won't find all that exciting, the Sunflower Showdown: Kansas State - 34 .... Kansas 19 (after beating Texas last week, my Jayhawks beat the spread, made it respectable) GA - was that State/Carolina game in Raleigh or Chapel Hill?

There is a new KD Uptown album coming out next week. I don't have a link handy, but it is searchable at Amazon. Half Note from '62 and '66 if memory serves, with Joe Farrell on one date and Sonny Red on the other.

The Resonance web site has a new sampler which includes unissued tracks from the Three Sounds and Wes Montgomery (both to be made available later). The sampler is on iTunes - listened to the Wes and it is very nice - a high fidelity studio date.

Thanks all. To celebrate, we saw Alejandro Escovedo here in KC last night. Great show!!

Thanks for the post. Very interesting. Like the George Freeman reference.
