I don't know about the rest of you but I don't have the time im my life nor the inclination to do a/b comparisons on every new re-issue.......make that any re-issue....have never done one, probably never will. It's very rare I buy a cd on the words of a critic anyway...but like reading them anyway. (but he was lacking the necessary editions of this session do do a proper A/B comparision): Mark~

Flea's first instrument was trumpet and he was a jazz prodigy. Even played with Diz if I remember correctly. Then he discovered Jimi and the rest is as they say... history. I dont think so. I was lucky enough to spend an hour or so alone with Howard this past Fall in LA. Very friendly guy and a blast to talk to about the "old days". He told me a lot about the Lighthouse that I didn't know as well as many stories about West Coast Jazz, musicians, the original owner of the Lighthouse and some things that I won't mention here. Howard was also signing copies of this DVD, which were/are for sale. He said he is trying to put a book out at some point but it's slow going at this time...hope it sees the light of day in the near future. Here are a few images I made of Howard. m~
