Flute, harp, electric piano. There are always exceptions, of course, but in general I'm not a big fan of these in a jazz context.

You're not the only one! Yeah, I like this a lot. Something about the sound still sounds a bit funny to me, but I'll take people's word that it's a whole lot better than the original LP. (Actually, a lot of albums from the seventies have something wrong with the sound, to me anyway.) When I bought the CD a few days ago I didn't even know the thing was produced by Becker and Fagan until I got it home and looked at the liners. What a dream come true, getting to produce a session by a couple of your jazz heroes. So far I like the music, but I've got to listen to it a lot more closely. Some new liners putting the album into historical perspective and talking about the bonus cuts would have been nice. Oh, well.

Probably the Brookmeyer select...but really looking forward to the big boxes coming down the pike: Herman, Jazztet, Farlow. Yes!

Wayning Moments. For BN's I would have picked Speak No Evil, but we weren't allowed to vote for more than one. Damnit.

All these projected sets are good news, but I'm really happy about the Jazztet one. A "must have" for me.
