Sir John Eliot Gardiner- THE BACH CANTATA PILGRIMAGE RECORDINGS- Volume 1 (Soli Deo Gloria)
Sir John Eliot Gardiner- THE BACH CANTATA PILGRIMAGE RECORDINGS- Volume 8 (Soli Deo Gloria)
I just rec'd this one last week and this is probably my favorite edition of the Herman Herds. Nistico, Hanna, Nat Pierce and some great arranging/writing. A gem!
Marla
Totally agree. I already had about half of this material; I'm happy to have everything in one very nice package. Mosaic comes through again!
I bought the first generation model and have been very happy with it other than the small display. Mostly, I've been using it to record band practice. I've also used it for some basic multitracked home recording. The mic emulation software is pretty decent. A nice inexpensive useful device.
I believe this release is already out in Europe and Japan. Coming to the U.S. sometime this spring. Roots & Grooves is a 2-disc set featuring Maceo with the WDR Big Band. Disc 1 is a tribute to Ray Charles, disc 2 features select originals from Maceo. How can this not be great?
Jazz
Listened to a lot of Ralph Towner, Bill Evans, Tomasz Stanko, and William Parker/Hamid Drake.
Rock
Bowie, Derek Trucks Band, and Jeff Beck probably top the list.
Blues
Alligator Records era Johnny Winter.
Just a simple thank you to Jim for maintaining this wonderful board over the years. It's been well over a year since I've donated in any fashion. That said, the check is in the mail (or will be tomorrow morning).
Additionally...
Is anyone interesting in a mint unopened copy of The Complete Blue Note Sam Rivers Sessions (Mosaic MD3-167)?
All you have to do is donate between now and the end of the year, and you will be entered in a random drawing for a chance to receive this wonderful set. No strings attached, it's that easy! Consider it a small token offered up on Jim's behalf in appreciation for all your kind support.
P.S. All donations pledged since the inception of this thread, and received by year's end eligible.

Edited to include Brown Street.
I bought them both more or less when they came out. Songs for Anyone is quite good, reminds me of Wayne Shorter's Alegria in some ways. Both releases deserve attention IMO.
Here's a link to a Guitar Player review of the Hall and Bruno model guitars. Not sure if the manufacturing process referred to below also applies to the signature model.
GP Sadowsky Review
P.S. Either way it's a Sadowsky. Quality you can trust IMO.
