I live in a suburb that borders wilderness in spots, and about once a month, a skunk gets run over somewhere around...my wife thinks I'm a basket case because I always take a deep sniff and smile... Come to think of it, she's right!

I'd rather be dipped in dog shit, to be honest...

I've only had the vinyl and the early CD as well; I'm game for the demos if nothing else!

I agree completely. What I thought was part of the aging process was just me being pickled. The strange thing is, a couple of years after I quit, someone gave me an eighth and I tried some...couldn't stand the high. I was extremely uncomfortable, the music didn't sound any better, I couldn't concentrate on anything, and I just wanted it to go away. I gave the rest of the eighth to another friend. I have no regrets as far as my smoking pot when I was 20. It's just the part about not stopping until I was 37 that I regret. Lot a wasted years there, in more ways than one. But that's just my experience...

Amen. Tennis today is unwatchable to me, simply because of the equipment. It's a shame that tennis didn't take charge of the equipment angle the way golf has always done for that sport. -

Nah, we get the Mercury-News. You know, the paper that exposed the CIA drug connections and then crapped in their pants when they realized the CIA was going to fight back. Since then it's been pretty mindless...

That makes a lot of sense...after all, everyone knows that Coca Cola is much better for you than pot. Who needs teeth anyway?

I hear you brother, that was me until about ten years ago. "An eighth a week is all I ask"; I'd already left the meth, 'shrooms and 'cid behind as relics of my youth, but the reefer was hard to give up. Now I don't use any recreational drugs. Drink decaf even. Quit smoking cigs about five and a half years ago. Now the bad side: I'm badly overweight, and I have finally been given a wake up call at 46: high blood pressure. My cholesterol is actually low, which annoys my other half (more eggs, dear; back off!), but the blood pressure is going to be a problem. The doctor says I need to lose at least fifty pounds. So, I've actually started excercising more. I already rode a bike and/or walked everywhere, I've now started lifting for the first time in twenty years (and I'm still amazed at the difference 20 years makes!!) three times a week. The weight is going down, but too slowly; I need to face up to the fact that even the metabolism boost the lifting gives me, I'm going to have to alter my diet. Of course, the thing that sucks there is that I'm old enough to know that a "diet" isn't something to "go on" and then "get off"; it's for life. I see other people my age, and it seems to be a mix. Some are doing great, and some are starting to just give up, unsnap their pants in the evening and turn into sludge while waiting for death. Me, I'm not ready yet... Edited to answer the damned question: Claritin and Paxil CR, if you must know...

I hereby nominate this one for post of the year! -
A question about post collection in US.

If nothing else, it seems like you could get a mail drop set up for a couple of months before you come over and let the stuff build up if the owner/manager didn't mind; surely someone must have thought of this before and set up some kind of arrangement like this. It just makes too much sense! -

Tex Avery fans, eh? Obviously this board is inhabited by people of superior taste. But then we already knew that... -
Artists Who Should Have Had a Mosaic...
Jazzmoose replied to Leeway's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
Nope, you're not the only one. Seems as though the Selects are somewhat replacing the regular sets. -
This reminds me of a dining establishment that used to be in nearby Mountain View called HONG KEE BARBEQUE. Never could get myself to go in; the idea of honky barbecue just didn't seem that enticing...

I hear that. No mention of it around here. If it hadn't been for the history course I took a few years ago...

Happy Birthday, Rainy Day (May 21 - June 21)
Jazzmoose replied to maren's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Hell, I don't know if I got here early or late, but I'll put a moose hoof in the cake in your honor, Rainy; happy birthday! -
I agree, no way they're overpriced. I started to pick up Six Pieces of Silver used yesterday and thought "why? I can find it for this price new!" and put it back. Let somebody curious and unfamiliar with him find it...

Thanks; I guess I'll just be thankful I finally have a copy of Cake Walking Babies From Home and enjoy it!
