  1. I don’t remember the specific details but I used their proxy service for Howard Ramsey’s Lighthouse at Laguna. The whole thing wound up costing $37 so, yes, it was expensive but I really wanted this disc and I love Laguna. Been there a trillion times; wish I could afford to live there. A few weeks later I saw it on eBay for about $20. I was momentarily annoyed but you can’t worry about what you can’t control.
  2. Alan doesn’t post here anymore but, from his website, he’s a pretty accomplished artist in Philadelphia. Great website, by the way. Doesn’t look like his Jazmatazz site is operational anymore https://www.alanlankin.com/home
  3. I used to visit the Tower Records store by Lincoln Center in the City, probably in the late 90s or early 2000s. Think some of my purchases was bop from PD labels like Cool ‘N Blue Records.
  4. No worries Scott.
  5. Some songs on Sunday Morning, maybe?
  6. So far I can’t say I’m enthused with this record; not a fan of electric piano.
  7. I meant the Wilson ones but I have yet to listen to any of them.
  8. Picked up the following LPs at estate sales: Bird with the Herd - 1951 Herb Alpert Presents Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66 Look Around - Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66 Nancy Wilson - A Touch of Today and Easy. These are not considered great albums so I may part with them
  9. Found a Bird Alamac record, although not from the 40s: Bird with the Herd - 1951

    Turntables

That’s odd. I was able to access it this morning but can’t now. I was able to save the file as a pdf. If you send me your email, I can forward it to you.

    Turntables

Here’s a step by step article with photos on how to remove the rumble. https://www.henleyaudio.co.uk/shop/product/viewfile?FileId=748&ProductId=193 I'm on my second Pro*Ject (not a Carbon, however) and fortunately haven’t had this issue.
  12. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this book.
  13. Yes, I saw them all. Great show. Not sure if there will be a Season 3 however.
  14. Received my copy of Comin’ On Home. Your blog may clean me out.
  15. Don’t know much about Curson and Pop Wine is very — don’t know the right word, so I’ll go with cool, incisive, what have you.
  16. I suppose they’re devoting minimum capital to the cover but, yeah, you’re right. I don’t have any of these. How do they sound?
  17. I thought I read somewhere where these releases are supposed to be pretty basic, not fancy like the Tone Poet.
  18. I see it on Amazon (direct from Amazon I believe), plus there are copies for sale on Discogs.
  19. Nite Life was the choice for this past Sunday. Great disc.
  20. Several years ago, I used to listen them a lot; I was listening to a lot of Bob Wills at the time. I still may have a couple of their albums.
  21. Having finished Soldiers of Salamis, which was outstanding, I have now begun his latest Lord of All the Dead, about Javier Cercas’ uncle who was killed in the Civil War. I have also picked up Toni Morrison’s Home. This is my first time reading anything by her.
