  1. I can imagine. Stay well, as Chuck said...and be safe.
  2. He has a new one out, Rebel Cinderella, about the socialist and feminist Rose Pastor Stokes. The Unlikely Life of a Socialist Activist Resonates a Century Later
  3. There a couple of other Grateful Dead-related releases for RSD 2020: The Very Best of Jerry Garcia, https://recordstoreday.com/SpecialRelease/12201 Buffalo 5/9/77, https://recordstoreday.com/SpecialRelease/12391
  4. It probably depends on the food, I suppose. I just cleaned out one of our refrigerators and saw some cheeses and sausage that were two years past the sell date. They actually looked fine but why take a chance. Out they went.
  5. I just finished reading Lord of All the Dead. It’s one of the better books I have read about the Spanish Civil War. The title comes from The Odyssey where Achilles says he would rather be a slave of a penniless laborer than lord of all the dead. Next up is probably this:
  6. Finished watching Altered Carbon.
  7. I’m on my second listen. Excellence supreme.
  8. If you’re just looking for an intro to Bird, I got my start years ago with Yardbird Suite, which also includes his Verve material. I progressed from there.
  9. Legitimate in what way? Authorization to use? Sound not pristine? If you wanted studio, why not purchase the complete savoy dial. You can probably find it in the secondary market. Sorry, didn’t see GAs post. The alt takes are important but you can skip them if you don’t like them. I’d rather have them than not.
  10. This goes down as Not Enjoying. I went to listen to the McCoy Tyner Select and couldn’t find it; I searched high and low. Then a thought hit me: maybe I thought I bought it (I’m convinced I did) but actually didn’t. Unfortunately, the would be profit takers have jacked up the price so I will have to wait or purchase the individual albums separately.
  11. This is such a fantastic album on so many different levels.
  12. I was going to purchase Parenthesis (as well as a few other titles) but I have so many other things to read that I decided to pass, for now.
  13. He Played With Charlie Parker. For $15 He’ll Play With You “Barry Harris has been offering a weekly jazz workshop since the 1970s. Everybody’s welcome, but they’d better love bebop.”
  14. I still haven’t decided whether to purchase the new Cream box. I’m leaning more to Felser’s position.
  15. That is indeed sad news. RIP.
  16. Missed a few. Sorry
  17. I don’t live that far from Somerville and I’m surprised that there was a recording studio there. In looking at the web I can’t tell if they still exist. One of the owners died a couple of years ago. One of his big claims to fame was recording Gladys Knight’s Midnight Train to Georgia there.
  18. Thanks. She’s home now and getting stronger so things are good!

  20. Here’s the list. Nothing terrifically exciting, some Dexter and a few other things. Record Store Day
  21. I vaguely remember the Nora thing. Great forum while it lasted.
