TCM is showing Kubrick’s WWI classic tonight. If you haven’t seen this, you must. One of the best movies ever made, imho. The movie was banned in France for years. Kirk Douglas and Adolphe Menjou are magnificent.

True but the Steelers lost to the Raiders so I think you have to slightly devalue the Bronco win, not to mention their coach looks lost. I think the Browns have a shot this weekend.

The quote is thought to be Churchill’s (but may be fictional) and in response to a remark made by Lady Astor or Bessie Braddock (a Socialist MP) that he was drunk, he referred to her as being ugly, not stupid, and that in the morning he would be sober and she would still be ugly. The quote is referred to in Andrew Roberts’ new book on Churchill, considered by many critics to be the best one volume biography about him.

Finished this earlier a few days ago. It's a remarkable book Ellis looks at the founders (Jefferson, Adams, Madison and Washington) on a particular issue and then discusses that issue from today's perspective.

The Broncos are not very good. They are getting shellacked at halftime by the 49ers.

Things are looking up for them. I can see them winning two or all of their remaining three games.

I would be concerned about spending time with a book whose writing is described as “workmanlike.”

I haven’t picked it up but their Booker Ervin release was very well received and the liner notes were written by Simon Spillett.

Also got my shipping notice. I just realized that I’d purchased from Tommy before via eBay and the service was always excellent.

No one can say for sure if he read the book but I’d be surprised if a Times reviewer hadn’t read the book he or she is reviewing.

But it looks he grabbed a face mask and it wasn’t called. Still an incredible run, though.

According to a couple of sources, Eovaldi has agreed to terms with the Sox, pending a physical. I’m not a big fan of the Cano deal. It sounds like the Mets has to take him as part of the price to acquire Diaz. I see Cano as being good for a year or two and then who knows. Just what they need, a steroid player.

Marijuana is now legal in Canada so I’m sure CBD is too.

That makes the two of us. Perhaps they made exceptions for packages because I received another package as well.

I was a fan and the title doesn't bother me because it more or less reflects those times. I'm sure some of us could relate, in some way, to the activities reflected in the title. Did some pot, not enough sex and probably a couple of dumb thrills along the way. I may check out the cd.
