  1. Well, it's an interesting race to the end in the West. Angels have blown a 4 run lead. Santana comes a cropper.
  2. Reducing the Paul Desmond set to $150. Joe Pass reduced to $70.
  3. Both is a good decision. Quebec Hardee is definitely a great one.
  4. Time is really running out for the Rangers. Even with a magic number of 3, they have two more against the Angels & three at Oakland to finish the season. Plus, the angels finish with three at Seattle. The Rangers' arms are starting to look worn out, and after today's game against Seattle, there's no way I'm not looking at Oakland as this year's Team Of Destiny. Making that magic number is starting to look pretty damn difficult. Oakland ain't losing, and Rangers ain't pitching. It is not unthinkable that the Rangers fade hard these last five games and don't even make the playoffs. Shit happens, especially in baseball. And oh btw - Mike Adams is now out indefinitely. So yeah, Angels fans, do not give up hope. The As have some great young arms and obvious team chemistry. Thought the Angels might gain a game yesterday but the As we're not to be denied. I know everyone talks about Buck Showalter for manager of the year but Bob Melvin has to be in the same conversation.
  5. Time running ou on the Halos although Trumbo may have woken up from his second half Rip Van Winkle act.
  6. Don't eat it but like to suck on a peach pit. Looks like I have a chaw in my mouth.
  7. Too bad. I only have Encore but like the album very much.
  8. If he's not in strong contention for the Cy Young, something's very wrong, especially considering the team he plays for. He is the front runner. He's at the top of almost every meaningful statistical category. I was at the game yesterday. The fans went nuts. Great come-from -behind win. Too bad Dickey was pulled one strike away from reaching his all-time high strike-outs in a game (14), but he threw a lot of pitches. At the beginning of the 8th he told Terry that if he got in trouble, he should come get him. He's got one more start so could conceivably get 21.
  9. That's just his way of justifying what he did, not to mention that how can you dispute the claim unless names are disclosed and users confirmed. Any denial by any member of that team would be viewed as "yeah, he's just denying it because we know he did it."
  10. The Chaloff is sold.
  11. Thanks all for the clarifications. Just trying to create some extra room Hate to part with them.
  12. It includes the box and book. I would say the condition is near mint. Each disc has a minor abrasion but it plays perfectly.

    Regards,

    Brad

  14. Possibly the post-season as well... http://espn.go.com/m...pended-50-games On "bright side" (such as it is...) to this - he's copping to the offense and not offering excuses or looking for obfuscations: "Forced" or not, there's always those who will look to play games and buy time. Not this guy (and in this case, his union), and for that, hey, good on him. Figures. Giants just can't catch a break. "The Giants have a knack for attracting players who are: (1) prone to cheat, and (2) ignorant and/or arrogant enough to get caught. Cabrera is the third Giant to receive a 50- or 100-game suspension under baseball's new testing procedures, the most of any team. Guillermo Mota (100 games, earlier this year) and catcher Eliezer Alfonzo (50 in 2008) are the others...." http://espn.go.com/m...sting-peds-work There's also an article about it in today's Times, http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/17/sports/baseball/melky-cabrera-suspension-again-tarnishes-giants-reputation.html?_r=1&ref=sports
  15. I don't how many of you listen to the Yankee radio play by play announcers, John Sterling and Susyn Waldman, but Sterling is unique in his own ways with his HR calls, e.g. "it's a-bomb from A-Rod". Yesterday Sterling made a call in the fourth inning which he got completely wrong and the morning guys on WFAN in New York, Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton, proceeded to dissect it. It's a great listen and laugh out loud riotous. Here's the audio, http://newyork.cbslo...back-with-jets/ The page will say problem loading podcast but you have to scroll down and click on a Classic Sterling Gaffe
  16. The Angels are starting to put themselves into a tough position, what with being fourth in the Wild Card chase. Aside from Weaver and Greinke, the rest of the rotation is shaky as is the bullpen. I have no idea why Sciosia continues to call on Isringhausen; they guy is toxic. They have some good hitters but not up and down the lineup. Now, you may be saying why is a Mets fan going on about the Angels. My son, for some reason, is an Angels fan and we bought Extra Innings and now, sleep permitting, we watch their games
  17. I used to feel that way until the O'Malleys sold the team but then again since it moved west haven't been really part of it. Funny, how Stoneham never came in for the same animosity that O'Malley received.
  18. Surely you've heard of the Yankees and Red Sox. Just sayin'. Giants/Dodgers go back some 112 years....almost 2200 games...longest rivalry & most games played any 2 teams. Surely you've heard both teams originally came from NYC? Just sayin' Giants and Dodgers were in the NL together as of 1890. The Highlanders (now known as the Yankees) were founded in Baltimore as the Orioles and moved to NY in 1903.
  19. I agree. Great to see the glee on the faces of the training partners.
  20. Belated happy wishes Lon, one of the true gents around here
  21. Having seen Pence play some (mostly agaiinst the Mets), I can say he's ok, but not more than not.
  22. I don't think Wheeler is targeted to be with the Mets in 2013 but could be called up later in the year depending on his progress. They don't want to rush him.
  23. And we thank the Giants for Zack Wheeler
  24. Mets finally won one. Yaaay! Also watched the Angels game. Greinke was as good as advertised but even with no Trout the offense looks lifeless. Think they haven't scored in 23 innings. I know somebody who will and has. Gets an A for persistence/loyalty
