  1. I have to start doing this Dan. I have just too much music. Almost 40 years. Kenny was underrate. Ditto on both counts
  2. Got an email about the set yesterday so will order early next year.
  3. Congrats! How are the parents doing?
  4. Just saw that. Looks they've been cleaned out already because there isn't much left although for those who don't have the Charlie Christian box, it's a worthwhile pickup.
  5. From the Mets to Mariners. It's not going to be a happy season for either "M" team but it's so depressing on this end that the one "big pickup" is a 34 year old outfielder that the Mets didn't want anymore. Ugh. Unfortunately, that has become a common refrain. Must be something to any team ending with the letters "ets" as in Jets, Mets and Nets.
  6. The Jets have put out the word that they wish to trade Sanchez. Tebow wants to be traded also. Vick may come to the Jets. The merry go round continues.
  7. As a big Bird fan, I'd vote for the Savoy/Dial, the live Savoy and the Verves. If you have that, you have the essentials.
  8. That's why they traded Josh Thole to the Jays as well. However, R.A. Is not your typical knuckleballer. He has excellent control and also throws a fastball. More than other pitchers, he has mastered the knuckler.
  9. It's hard to say which one is better but standouts for me are Pepper Adams, Social Call and the Philly Joe Jones discs. The new Green one is outstanding.
  10. I read that but that was just plaiin stupid. They parlayed Dickey into one of the best catching prospects and the 11th best prospect over all, plus a prospect who could potentially be a top of the rotation pitcher. So what's wrong with that? They were probably going to finish next to last again. Reminds me of the story Ralph Kiner told when he went to see Branch Rickey about a raise after he had a good year but the Pirates finished last or near the bottom. Rickey said no to a raise and reportedly said "Ralph, we finished last with you and can finish last without you." The trade also brings to mind Graig Nettles' quip about Sparky Lyle the year after Sparky won the Cy Young when the Yankees brought in Goose Gossage: "From Cy Young to Sayonara.". The Pirates may have finished last with Kiner, but at least he gave the fans someone to come out and see. The Mets have no one worth seeing, with the exception of Wright, and other teams will just pitch around him. Wilpon should sell the team to someone who can and will put a decent team on the field. It's not just about giving the fans something to see because let's face it fans come out to see winners and I doubt there will be a lot of fans out there in 2013. Hopefully, they are building for the future. Starting pitching will be good eventually and the infield is not bad. Rest of the team needs major work, especially the outfield.

  12. Says it all beautifully. Thanks for sharing that, Brownie. It certainly does.
  13. As a history buff, I enjoyed it.
  14. a little slow, plodding. Yup.
  15. Maybe it's time to take the act to the geriatric set
  16. I also ordered mine from CD Universe. They're supposed to ship on Friday.
  17. They use something we call We Pay, which I never heard of. Why not use Paypal?
  18. Well of course it's subjective. How we feel music is very subjective.
  19. Seems like accusations more than anything else. Unless the statute of limitations has expired why are the authorities not involved. Seems like Sesame Street was quick to cut their losses like any other corporation.
  20. They can have him. Amen.
  21. I think that's great news. This is a definite buy for me.
  22. Agreed. Thought it might be Tigers night but pitching is too good. They've now won as many titles in three years as the prior 60 plus. Take it anyway you can get it Congrats to Giants and their fans like Goodie. Also glad for ex Met Angel Pagan.
  23. I can't see this going past five or six games. Giants just have to keep it close and get into Tigers bullpen. It's amazing to me they made it this far. Probably why I don't follow baseball like I did in the late 1970s and 1980s Not sure why that would matter. Your team is your team. The players come and go but the team remains.
  24. You mean 'is it M- or VG+++?' As she's a virgin, impossible to know: the package hasn't been opened
