Jim,
The link is a couple of posts up from Steve Albin. What I was looking for was links to all the Mosaic discographies that Mike said he had done but it turns out they're only available through the Brian software although somehow the NKC discorgraphy is on this link but then if you shorten the link to see the list of artists, NKC doesn't appear. I don't know if I confused the matter further but I guess it's not a big deal.
I looked at the Cole discography, grouped after Artists but then when I go to the Artists page, there's nothing there. I don't see a list of Mosaic discographies that I can access.
Mike,
I didn't see the discographies for these sets. I see the listing of the sets in your temp file but not the actual discography. Could you please provide a link. Thanks.
Do you have his earlier recording of Quartet/Quintet/Sextet on BN. OOP but great. Also, he's on Art Blakey's Night at Birdland, in case you don't have that.
This seems to be a problem with many of us. We don't appreciate all that we have to really undrestand it. I think back in the early developing days of jazz where people didn't have as much disposable cash as now, they'd really study a recording, listening to it forwards and backwards and ask why is so and so doing what he's doing and how he's doing it. I'm not sure we're thinking or doing about that kind of thing anymore.
Fuckin Mets. Blew a 5-1 game to the Bucs in the 9th inning to lose to 6-5. Poor base running cost them a run in the 8th inning. This has plagued them a lot lately. Then Braden fucking Looper proceeds to give up 4 runs in the 9th and a throwing error contributes to the Bucs 6th run. They're not ready for prime time. Maybe next year.
I really think that talking about trading or making cds of illegal recordings violates what Jim has asked. It's not a law but something that won't get this board in trouble. We shouldn't violate the spirit. Hans is absolutely right although I hope he didn't mean that he's leaving the Board.
As far as cdrs vs. Definitive type of companies, while Wolff may be right, the difference is that we don't want this Board drawn into any difficulties. What Disconforme does is up to others to police but we don't want this Board to be policed by third parties. It's up to police ourselves so others won't.
They continue to buy crap because they don't know any better. Some guys were reading on the radio from Spin of a list of the 10 best songs in the last 10 years. There was stuff like NWA on it and that garbage. Please!
I've just started listening to the Richards Select and frankly the first four selections, Annotations of the Muses, is just a little strange, not exactly jazz. I hope the rest of this Select doesn't follow this pattern.
