  1. I'm sorry (or penitent, perhaps) that I started this mini fire storm but I do subscribe to what Hans and Shawn have said. This isn't the place for it. Some may say that we have a political forum and that raises a lot of fervent discussion. That is true and if we wish to have religious discussion or interject godly themes, I suggest that we do it in the political forum.
  2. These have been shipped. I just received my copy but have not yet been able to listen to it. However, the book looks chockful of information.
  3. Hans, I believe B. Goren's last post also summarized what I meant to say.
  4. While I can understand the Byrd/Adams and Donaldson Mosaics not being there yet (is Scott implying they're close?), I find it hard to believe that the Mobley and the Parlan aren't there yet, especially the Mobley which has been out for awhile. Perhaps most people bought the LP version, whch has been OOP for awhile.
  5. I think they might have started to ship these because I received one of their customer receipts/purchase order confirmation.
  6. I save mine but never thought of selling them on ebay. Anyway, mine only go back to 1999.
  7. As a fellow resident of NJ, I'm with 7/4. On a more serious note, I'm not sure this forum is the place for religious topics. I'm not anti religious; I thing it just better belongs in the non music areas.

    We're back!

    Again.
  9. One of the side benefits of downloading Itunes is that they have 19 different jazz stations you can listen to. I'm listening to a station called the Spirit of Jazz and is described as "in the style of S.F. legendary KJAZ." I'm not familiar with KJAZ but this is a mighty fine station.
  10. I can't begin to figure out how much money I have spent because of this board or the BNBB. It's a lot, that's for damn sure. What the hell, you gotta enjoy it right.
  11. Claude, Thanks. Went ahead and did that so I'm rarin' to go. Was about to download the Buddy De Franco when I noticed it was a lot of strings. Bummer. Now, there's a whole another way for me to spend money
  12. That's exactly what my said. BTW, that Collateral movie looks good too. I want to see that this weekend. I know you can't get everything from a trailer but he does look like he could be a very good actor.
  13. I've been listening to this disc but no guesses on who anybody is. The music overall is superb. A very good BFT. I'll post impressions later. Thank you Marcus.
  14. Is this one of those things that you have to have an mp3 or IPOD or could I just download it to my computer and then make a disc from that that I could play on a cd player? Also is the software downloadable from Apple? This from the technologically unsophisticated
  15. I've always heard and read that you shouldn't put the lp into the jacket but outside. Why is that? Warping?
  16. Anxioulsly waiting for the Verve set.
  17. Dan, Just sent an email. Hope it's not too late.
  18. Maybe it'll be a reissue of what was on Mosaic ala Herbie Nichols. Whatever it is, I hope it doesn't have him singing. I can't take his singing. And whatever they do, I hope it has some Phil Urso. In fact, I'd like to see some of his stuff reissued. He's way underappreciated.
  19. Happy Birthday to my musical godfather who is one great guy and always provides encouragement and since he's feeling blue.....
  20. I see that you paid around $230 for the Buck. Not bad. I also see the infamous Len Burris is the seller. Don't ask me why he's infamous. I just remember that he had some notoriety about his ebay deals.
  21. Happy Birthday to one of the founders (if not the founder) of our music. He must be great; he has two birthdays a year!
  22. When I saw the Manchurian Candidate this weekend (which BTW is very good, almost as good as the original), they had a trailer for this new film by Taylor Hackford. It looks good but I hope it doesn't turn out like Bird, focusing on the bad things in his life. Anybody heard anything about this upcoming flick?
  23. I go every six months. I'm no dentist but teeth should not be neglected. I've been very fortunate. Have had only about five cavities my whole life and no braces or everything else but my wife has bad teeth and it is expensive. Dental insurance pays for some but it's not as great as medical insurance. Better than nothing though.
  24. When I was a kid, I'd scream like a stuck pig. My mother used to bribe me with ice cream cones. I still don't like 'em too much. When I have to get one I pinch another part of my body so I don't have to focus on the needle. Yeah, I'm strange.

    We're back!

Didn't realize we were gone. Got busy at work but glad we're back.
