What DAC did you go with? I've got a Dolby Digital 5.1 Harman Kardon I'll sell you for a good price. I went for a Canadian manufactured Moon 300 D, it was heavily discounted as newer model had been released.

Having added a DAC to my CD player quite recently and then had to replace a bent Dynavector stylus I'm not in the mood buy any more audio kit for some considerable time. Having said that moving from DV 20x to an XX2 Mk II made a huge difference to vinyl playback.

I received a notice about bonus points from CDJapan which says the points expire in 90 days. preserve decorum and order something. It's the only decent thing to do.

The Dutch JJJ disc is very nice. Sound is well balanced if a little dusty. The Miles has better sound. The Dutch JJJ disc is very nice. Sound is well balanced if a little dusty. The Miles has better sound.

Been looking around for this one since it was posted in this thread a year and a half ago. Still never found anything less than ~$40 Mark, glad you found this.

I really hate these PD releases for the confusion they cause. I wouldn't be surprised if some buyers are put off legit archival reissues by the likes of Uptown by shoddy PD issues. I'd drop the links BTW to be in concordance with house rules

Perhaps it's purely down to being European but I really dislike the taste of Hershey's. Indelible - at least to me. I guess it depends on what you are used to. Me, I like Swiss chocolate. -
apologies to Carla but I ditched my copy of this quite recently. Didn't do much for me. Hmm - I like it ! There again, I've had my copy for 30 years.. In fairness to this LP I was wanting to create some space on the shelves to make space for newer stuff and this got spotted and identified as something I didn't play often. In a rare moment of ruthlessness it and 60 other LPs were gone.

Thanks for the list. I missing rather a lot of these from my collection. I'll be very selective. I've none of the "Mal" titles by Waldron I may content my self with one or two or just accept that I don't need to own these in any format as I can hear them on Spotify.

t the thread on Bethlehem reissues had me dig these two vinyls out. The Pete Brown is a 10 inch

This looks quite interesting. Pollard plays strongly on a nice Terry Gibbs emArcy date. Anyone hear heard the whole album care to comment on its merits.

Is Kenny Dorham on all these tracks? I've a Japanese RCA issue of what appears to be the first four tracks of the first disc being reissued. I assume this is the same material. I'm a bit of Dorham completist , hence the query.

Jackie's Pal arrived this morning. Sounds very nice but I've only the version on Spotify to compare . Not a fair comparison but the CD has better fuller bass and a less metallic sound to it. Very nice session.

Agreed, I can't manage without my mono switch. At least a third of my LPs are mono and so are most of my 78s. Lack of mono switches and money have prevented me upgrading my amplifier. Your set up looks cool. How does it sound?

Marvellous I've wondered about this one . I've had mixed experience of No Business pressings . How's this one?

I've assumed they use identical masterings. The only difference as far as I can tell is slightly cheaper printing stock is used in the Euro-wannabe.. CDs, and flimsier disc boxes. I thought that these were actually the genuine japanese ones we get from cdjapan etc. Thanks. I am playin now "Rahsaan Rahsaan". Pretty good! i'm sure the ones from cdjapan are indeed Japanese manufactured discs. The "Euro-wannabe" discs are widely available in the UK and other parts of Europe at a low price ( £5). These look like Japanese discs in that they come with OBIs and full Japanese livery only written in very small font..... "Made in EU"

I can identify with this mentality.

Which McMaster "JuJu" do you have? The 1st (no alternate takes), the 2nd (alternate takes) or the 3rd (alternate takes with SBM) remaster? 2nd - alternates, no sign of SBM on disc etc. I've had the SHM CD for a week now and it certainly sounds much better. I realise that relatively poor sound of the McMaster had put me off listening to it over the years. I have plenty of time for almost all CD transfers be they McMasters, RVG , Larry Walsh or what ever. Very few sound bad. I think that's largely down to my HiFi being pretty well balanced.

Whole batch of Mosaic Selects and Singles running low

I've been on the fence too long regarding the Zeitlin, although I was mightily impressed by his contribution to Steig's "Flute Fever" .....and the Blakey ..... decision , decisions...... -
It did say I had 300 free points as a new customer but would not allow me to apply the points to my first order. But again, how many points does it take to buy cds? Also, did you see my question about shipping costs and whether the number of cds has anything to do with it? thanks Each point is one yen ( I think) . For shipping to the UK the cost varies with CD numbers. I don't recall seeing a listing of shipping charges bit I worked it out by adding CDs to a draft order and seeing what happened to the shipping. For me SAL is the most cost effective option mainly because customs charges pretty much force me to order single CDs.

I realised that too late and lost a bunch !
