The thing of it is, that's my "period"! I can relate to it much more than what's on TV today.

Happy Birthday 2011 T.D.!

One last try, and then I'll reveal the mystery guest.

It seems rather late in the year to be trading players, but today the Ticats traded Maurice Mann to the Argos. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/argos-acquire-maurice-mann-from-ticats/article2197985/

This week's TSN power rankings are out. Other than the Lions on a seven-game winning streak, I would say that the top five are very close. [1] B.C.: Hold on to top spot for the second week[2] Montreal: Defeat the Argonauts and hang onto No. 2 rank[3] Winnipeg: Remain in third by downing the Tiger-Cats[4] Calgary: Close loss to Lions keeps them in top half[5] Edmonton: Dominant performance moves them up one spot[6] Hamilton: Drop into sixth after failing to beat Bombers[7] Saskatchewan: Three straight embarrassing performances[8] Toronto: Another week, another loss for the Boatmen http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=377869

I see now that the Als and the Stamps have also clinched playoff berths. That leaves the Ticats and the Riders fighting for the last spot. http://stats.sports.theglobeandmail.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=globeandmail&page=cfl/stand/standingAJ.htm

Maybe Jack will get her. Like Ruta Lee, she was a television staple in the late '50s and early '60s. Here's another (later) photo of her.

Netflix has done an about-face, and will not call its DVD service Qwikster, and will not make customers have two accounts. http://www.foxbusiness.com/technology/2011/10/10/netflix-keeps-dvd-service-under-netflix-brand/?test=latestnews

Nope! Here's another hint. In 1961 she was the co-star of The Jim Backus Show aka Hot Off the Wire (or was it Hot Off the Press?).
-
Nope. That's another good guess. Here's another hint. Like Elizabeth Montgomery, she is found on the Johnny Staccato DVD box set.

I agree, Valerie. Think TV. Think unique voice.

Montreal Alouettes 29....Toronto Argonauts 19 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4442376 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4442384 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4442396 Decent game. Anthony Calvillo broke Damon Allen's record for career yards thrown. The loss eliminated the Argos from the playoffs. ***** Edmonton Eskimos 17....Saskatchewan Roughriders 1 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4442400 Durant was dressed but hurt, so Dinwiddie started and played the first half, throwing three interceptions. I think the clock is ticking on Dinwiddie. Durant played the second half and couldn't get anything done either. With the Riders' loss, the Eskimos and the Lions clinched playoff berths.

Since Valerie got Ruta Lee and Chuck is a babe expert, they'll probably get this too.
-
Correct, Chuck! It's Jack Jones! Here's his Original album Classics box: http://www.amazon.com/Original-Album-Classics-Colin-Blunstone/dp/B0030BCCAM/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1318216555&sr=1-1

The other night I watched the Ann Henry episode. Does anyone know anything about her? I find it a bit odd that a black female singer whom I've never heard of had enough pull to land a singing-but-not-acting gig on a network TV show. Maybe she was a friend of John Cassavetes. All I could find of her was that she had bit parts here and in The Beverly Hillbillies. http://www.tv.com/people/ann-henry/

OK, I guess you don't recognize him. Last hint: He was the lead singer for The Zombies.

I see good news and bad news. The good news was that in a time when self-made billionaires are typically Wall Street paper traders, Jobs was actually "in the business" (really multiple businesses - computers, music, telephones, film animation). I believe that the businessmen who are "in the business" move the world forward, and we need more of them. The bad news was that he was known for abusing his employees, completely disregarding the Golden Rule. That is not a small defect.

I think it's noteworthy that there are multiple bidders wiling to spend billions of dollars when the recording industry seems to be going downhill fast.

British Columbia Lions 33....Calgary Stampeders 31 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4442027 The best game of the season so far! Seesaw battle with lots of big plays. Dave Ridgeway set the record for consecutive field goals at 28 in 1993. Paul McCallum broke it tonight by kicking his 29th and 30th. On his attempt for his 31st with 4:27 left in the game, he missed, and Larry Taylor ran it back 122 yards for a touchdown to give the Stamps a one-point lead. On the last play of the game, McCallum hit a 53 yarder to win it.
-
OK. here's a hint: He had three hits with his group, but none out on his own.
-
I would like to know the thoughts of Bud Adams and Ralph Wilson.
