  1. Columbia France has issues a 2 cd set with the After Hours Jazz and the Rhythm Section LP on it. I guess from the same OOP series as the ADIAW CD.
  2. I've talked about Discovery! with MC and it's possible but it all depends on the "moods" of Charles himself if it will see the light of day. In the mean time there's a Japanese cd issue of this LP (very hard to find I know) with catalog number 25DP-5317 from 1988/89.
  3. maybe it's a good idea to transfer the Tony Williams Select to the Mosaic's worst decisions threat (even before it's released) because the simmons drums he uses on one of the sessions is way beyond terrible and unlistenable.
  4. I know it wasn't. Was just trying to get the time frame right......
  5. Before the 10" Connoisseur series and the Japanese mini LP 10" series it was on a Japanese cd as well (CJ28-5127) together with the 10"'s by Farlow and Salvador.
  6. MC likes the Sounds trio but he thinks a Mosaic set would be too much of the same (and too big a set). Les McCann will get a Select in the future. Maybe a Select for the Sounds as well.
  7. The DVD is already available (in Japan only of course). Strange thing is it's made in Fermany but you can't buy it in Germany (or anywhere else) without paying the high Japanese import price. It's a bad quality recording (sound and video wise) so not worth the price imo.
  8. now it's my turn to answer on Chuck's behalf...... Only the later BN sessions. For details see the Mosaic upcoming page.
  9. Thanks Chuck for answering the question!!!!!
  10. Williams in November and Tyner next spring.
  11. What should be the going price for a (cd's still sealed) Mosaic set? There weren't any on eBay (also not recently sold).
  12. It's in fact a Ceberus LP reissue with bonus tracks from the other LP's!! So a great "compilation" if you can call it that way. Don't know this music so I'll definately will give it a spin in the store whan it arrives.
  13. Claude: just to set the record straight....I don't own the store (although the old owner really wants me to!!!) I've just been around a long time now first as a customer only (from the 1980 already) and then I began helping them out during the North Sea Jazz Festival where the store would reside. Later on I worked (if you really can call it working) in the store for one or two days a week (just for fun on my part). Indeed a great store but pricey (the owner has to live too you know). The Conn's are indeed mid priced for a limited period (so also €11.99 in our store).
  14. They might be mid price for a limited period. The last batch of Conns was so too (not anymore).
  15. Thanks John & Flurin for your fast reply.
  16. is there a chance I can get a clue of where to look for this session (audio wise)????
  17. I don't get the "expensiveness" of these cd's. They are regular full price issues (in Europe) so €20 is on the cheap side. We sell them for €22.50 in our store (JazzCenter, The Hague, The Netherlands). All full priced cd's are that "expensive". Please try to imagine how much EMI is going to sell of these. Then the remastering, seach for tapes, artwork, pressing, etc....and you'll know they might very well be losing money. Let's be greatful EMI is continuing their reissue scedule (as opposed to Sony/BMG, etc) and stop whining about the price.
  18. Paper Man isn't on cd (not even Japanese nor bootleged in Europe) so it must be an LP.
  19. I should be the one thanking all of you for your time and efforts!! So I will: Thanks guys!!! I doubt a reissue will happen (officially at least) while there are no tapes left.
  20. If anyone can direct me to this I'm very happy. Got a LP burn last weekend so the artwork would be nice to add.
  21. The rehearsals are this week (just got back so I didn't make them). Stanley Cowell (and maybe Robert Glasper on some tracks) are on piano, Cecil McBee on bass, Both Bartz and Spaulding are NOT on it (a pity I know). Howard Johnson, Bill Saxton, David Weiss, Jason Jackson are others which I can remember. Indeed a Blue Note recording. Released later this year (if all goes well).
  22. rest assure: there are no liner notes inside this one. As you can see on the back of the digipack (which is a repro of the original LP) there are none so the inclusion of a paper with no liner notes seemed (even for Universal) a not so good idea!!!
  23. I'm always bugging MC about the as well David!!! I hated the fact he excluded the Big Band tracks from one of the Jazz Crusaders LP's to stay within the "real" Jazz Crusaders mold for the set. Same with all the single cd's with bonus tracks from other LP's but not complete (just because he doesn't like them). But at the end of the day we all should be very thankful for all his efforts getting most of this music released at all.
  24. I believe the sessions with co leaders are excluded (Stuff, Getz, etc.) But these are available elsewhere so no worries!!!
  25. Hello all, anyone heard (or bought or both) the new release titled Jazz Academy by Michael Brecker et al.? Just curious.
