I think Miss Creamcheese likes to kid quite a bit and I find her quite refreshing and even goofy at times(Goofy is pretty cool in my book) with a sharp wit. She might not use smilies, but is it really necessary?
Part of it, at least in my own case, is that while I LOVE the music, I can't write worth a damn about music. I listen attentively, buy discs, etc, but putting it into a written form eludes me so far. I love being around here(lots of really good folks here), but you find most of my posts in non-music topics. Just my $0.02
Today was chicken parts marinated in olive oil, Lemon Juice, chopped garlic, sage leaves & salt & pepper accompanied by sauteed asparagus(in oil with shallots, garlic, lemon zest ,lemon juice & salt & pepper)
I wonder what that was all about.
I don't know, but the gate was halfway down and there was a sign on the door that said "if you know exactly what you want, knock". I wanted to browse(and buy), so out of luck for me.
Joe Torre did, also. IF(BIG IF) Nomar can stay healthy, he can be a 'supersub', play some 1st, some outfield, DH, some protection against injuries, etc. He may not ask for much as far as salary, either.
The latest rumor has the Yankees signing Nomar to play first and trading for Kaz Matsui to play second. Then the Yankees can have an all-shortstop infield(If you believe that one I have a bridge to sell to you)!
I was set to get something for myself tonight- I was in downtown Manhattan, on my way to Downtown Music Gallery, and- THEY WERE CLOSED! I'll have to try again another day(sigh).
The interesting thing is what this does to Giambino. His splits between DH and 1st base are really eye-popping:
In other words, those splits are for 695 at bats at first base, 521 at bats as DH. I'd say that's a statistically significant difference.
Funny, cuz its not like he's an asset in the field or anything.
Giambi is still a better first baseman than Nomar right now.
Some players do hit better when they also play the field, and Giambi is one of those people.
Sadly, this attack is only one of many. Coming soon to your local video store, 'When Pianos Attack', shocking footage of Steinway, Bosendorfer, and lesser brands attacking unsuspecting players.
'Live in Concert' is screamingly funny- I've seen it about ten times and still scream whenever I see it. It is a work of pure genius, as he races from topic to topic and yet somehow manages to tie everything together.
RIP- he made me laugh(& think).
I recall reading an interview of JML by Fripp, where Fripp told JML that he didn't listen to his music anymore because he didn't want to be too heavily influenced by what JML was doing.
The Furcal deal strikes me as a gross overpayment. Furcal does not have a high OBP and no power , so offensively he's not exceptional. I can't see paying him $13Mil a year for production that is NOT exceptional.
The Mets felt they were getting played by the agents for Molina & Hernandez, so they struck quickly and made the LoDuca deal. I like Omar Minaya's approach, he's aggressive and not that willing to be hornswaggled by a shifty agent. I think the Mets may be greatly improved over last year.
