  1. Close to two feet here, with some wild drifts. I went out to shovel with my wife & son, and we moved a lot of snow in front of my small house. Wednesday's temperature is expected to reach 50!
  2. My son has a 30GB Ipod and loves it. It sounds very good
  3. I got mine in the mail last Friday, and this is a damn good disc. It's got loads of soul, excellent grooves, great vocals, great organ, guitar, etc. BUY IT ALREADY!!!
  4. I recall being in my car with WKCR on the radio, and they were having the 'Noise Fest'. Some of the things played were recordings of various power tools, scraping, etc. To my ear, it was music, even though it was harsh, very likely random, possibly bereft of artistic intent(at least on the part of the noisemaker), etc. Two people walking in heels(insert jokes here) can be music, and I find that sometimes the NYC subway trains make music to my ears. There's no artistic intent and nobody organizing the sound, but it's still music. Perhaps music is whatever a listener thinks it is, but the Ives example referred to earlier has no one listening to anything but there's still music there. I tend to go along with what Jim Sangrey posted earlier about defining what music isn't, then we can proceed.
  5. I haven't eaten at a fast food place like McDonald's, etc. in a few years. I used to go sometimes when my son was younger(He's 13 now.), and he seemed to be more interested in the toy most times rather than the food! In fact, I asked him a few months ago if he wanted to go to Burger King or McD's, and he said "Why would I want to go there? I can get a better burger at home." At last, after years of cooking for him and trying to make something good at home, I got a payoff! I was also quite proud of my guy
  6. I had an MRI done of my left knee ten years ago to confirm a meniscus tear. The hospital where I had it done didn't offer music or any other amenities, so I laid there and it was NOISY, dull and boring. Halfway through it I needed to pee, but of course I had to hang on until the end. I've spent worse hours, so it wasn't that bad. I had the arthroscopic surgery and my knee has been great since then.

  15. SS1, I watched that game, and the 1st quarter was absolutely amazing! Suns scored 47 & Nash had 11 assists! The passing and ball movement by the Suns led to many ,many open shots. Shaq does look a bit old tha last few times I've seen him play- I guess those years of not being in shape are taking their toll.
