  1. It's a shame he wasn't able to enjoy his retirement. Life is sometimes cruel at times. Thanks Phil for all the great music over the many years.
  2. Since the search function here is completely useless, could someone tell me what albums are contained on this Mosaic? Thanks!
  3. I just purchased Dick's Picks Vol. 3 from Pembroke Pines from 1977. It sounds like a great set! Instead of having to sort through this massive thread for some sort of consensus, I ask you guys what other recordings from this time period looking at '77 in particular, I should also consider? I was thinking of Vol. 34 which contains performances mostly from Rochester supplemented with a show from Toronto, I believe? Thanks.
  4. 94 degrees here today with temps expected to stay in the low 90's through Wednesday.
  5. The #1 song on Saturday, July 16th 1960 was: Alley Oop by Hollywood Argyles
  6. I see that Al Molinaro who played Murray the cop on the television series the Odd Couple and Al who owned Arnold's on Happy Days is 96.
  7. Sounds like it might be worth attending. If you don't, you might end up kicking yourself for missing out.
  8. Bill, you know I'm interested!!!
  9. Yup. It will be a great season if the Giants can boot the Dodgers from playoff contention. Looks like that could be a good possibility based on the way they're playing of late. Man, there bullpen sucks! The hitting isn't a whole lot better. That coming from a Dodger fan.
  10. I don't know how you guys in Arizona deal with that heat.
  11. Not that I've viewed many jazz performances during my lifetime. but Mulgrew put on a good show. Glad to have seen him perform.
  12. Late to the game on this one, but Jon Mayer has a good number of fine releases on the Reservoir label.
  13. I'm not sure why I remember this but many years ago there was this wrestler named Frank Williams who used to wrestle ever week. He was a poor shlub who would always lose, never putting up much of a fight. Here's an interview with him in Pipers Pit .
  14. Pipers Pit. That was classic!
  15. Don't know what that converts to in Fahrenheit, but it sounds friggin' hot! PS At 10.30am the temperature on our balcony was 43C. Don't know what that converts to in Fahrenheit, but it sounds friggin' hot That would be 109F, Tom. Hope it's more salubrious in your part of the world. Actually unseasonably cool here. Temps here in the mid 60's yesterday and for today with light rain which is falling right now. That will change by Tuesday with temps expected to rise to 90.
  16. Don't know what that converts to in Fahrenheit, but it sounds friggin' hot!
  17. Happy Birthday, Bebop!
  18. Thanks guys and gals! Much appreciated on this end.
  19. A beautiful morning here in northern New England with temps expected around 80 degrees and plenty of sunshine. Much unlike yesterday the 4'th of July with mostly cloudy skies and temps barely reaching 70.
  20. Whatever happens with this series, jazz fans certainly have been enriched by these recordings. I was playing the Mulligan Concert Jazz Big Band again a short time ago and it's an excellent recording. Highly recommended.
  21. I look forward to that release whenever that comes.
  22. I see it's available used from Amazon for $16.99 in very good condition. I own this collection and it's quite good.
  23. My wife has since worked out a better deal for around $90/year. Back in business.
