  1. I decided I'd procrastinated enough on this one. I'm looking forward to hearing prime Sonny Clark and Grant Green. I ordered Solid and Street Of Dreams with it, beefing up my Grant Green section considerably.
  2. The Pistons gave up 68 points in the paint last night. I'm very happy to see Ronny Turiaf contributing for the Lakers, after heart surgery kept him out last year and never playing again was a possibility. He and Maurice Evans are some real hustle players, something the Lakers have lacked for the last few seasons. I expect Jordan Farmar to replace Smush Parker in the starting lineup quickly. Only Sasha Vujacic has looked worse than Smush.
  3. We already had Saxophone Vagina, that one went over like a fart in church.
  4. Nazr Mohammed=not Ben Wallace. However, Ben Wallace was a player who took a while to reach his full potential. Maybe the Pistons will be the right situation for Nazr to do so.
  5. I had a very similar one using PayPal's name. That one freaked me out for a second!
  6. I predict the Heat will start sloppy and finish strong like last year. Shaq doesn't care much about the regular season. I'm interested to see how good the Pistons will be without Ben Wallace. I think they won't be nearly as good. Andrew Bynum is the future. 19 years old.
  7. Thelonious Monk - Criss Cross is no longer available.
  8. PM Sent on Lou Donaldson - The Scorpion.
  9. I just ordered up a few 2cd sets: Kool & The Gang - Gold V/A - A Cellarful Of Motown
  10. Pats sure looked like a contender last night. That first drive by Brady was of the unstoppable nature.
  11. Happy Birthday!
  12. How'd I miss this one? More belated birthday salutations!
  13. Happy Birthday!
  14. Glad I had the tube on mute. The announcers were driving me to drink as it was.
  15. So much for the supposedly hugely superior AL! I'm glad the NL won. What happened to the Tigers' defense? Errors were their undoing.
  16. Happy Birthday!
  17. Happy Birthday!
  18. The Cowboys looked a lot like the Raiders last night--can't run, can't protect the QB, shoot themselves in the foot at crucial moments of the game, have great skill players their line can't help perform... Well, maybe not quite as bad as the Raiders--but similar problems.
  19. "Shirley" is one of my favorite songs...period!
  20. Favorite tracks from this set? Mine: The Silver Meter I'll Never Be Free Along Came John The Way I Feel Jerry Just 3/4 Daddy James Understanding I Want To Go Home Early A.M.
  21. Happy Birthday!
  22. The Lakers' future looks bright. Youngster Andrew Bynum has come to camp carrying noticeably more muscle and looks hungry on the court, fighting for rebounds, blocking shots around the hoop, and looking to score inside. Rookie Jordan Farmar from UCLA has played really well, and looks more up to the challenge of playing in the NBA than I expected. The brightest spot in the lineup has been Luke Walton, who I think will have an excellent year for the Lakers. His passing just keeps getting better, and Luke is also improving his shot. Vladimir Radmanovic and Kobe will be back in the lineup for the final preseason game. Bynum and Kwame could really be a scary tandem underneath. While I wouldn't predict a run at a title, this team is certainly no pushover. The Clippers have also added some good young talent, I'm hoping they will be able to get over the hump and defeat the other Western Conference powerhouses like Dallas, Phoenix, and San Antonio. Tim Thomas has joined the Clips, he sure hit some big shots in last year's playoff series against the Lakers and then the Clippers. The Clips need to sign Chris Kaman to a multi-year contract.
