  1. Oh, indeed! I love most of those lps you mention--especially The Clash and Talking Heads. (but no way my father would let me near a college boy... ) I never liked Fogelberg's song; it was just *everywhere* back then to the point of nausea.
  2. That song is burned in my psyche. Chalk it up to the romantic angst of my teens in 1982. The guy who broke my heart turned out to be a total dick, and he's now fat with hair like Larry Fine and a hundred kids and a naggy wife. I think I win.
  3. Dan Fogelberg's "Longer Than" Longer than there've been fishes in the ocean Higher than any bird ever flew Longer than there've been stars up in the heavens I've been in love with you. Stronger than any mountain cathedral Truer than any tree ever grew Deeper than any forest primeval I am in love with you. I'll bring fires in the winters You'll send showers in the springs Well fly through the falls and summers With love on our wings. Through the years as the fire starts to mellow Burning lines in the book of our lives Though the binding cracks and the pages start to yellow I'll be in love with you. Longer than there've been fishes in the ocean Higher than any bird ever flew Longer than there've been stars up in the heavens I've been in love with you I am in love with you..
  4. Dan Burton named his dog after himself. (Danbo) Who does that? He continues to be a disgusting embarrassment to Indiana. edited to respond to Ghost: I've been over IU basketball for years now because of the ridiculous idolization of Bobby Knight in the past. Dan Burton/Bobby Knight: Twin sons of different mothers. But anyway... they need to fire Sampson like, yesterday.
  5. but seriously.... what's with the Hope and the scarf.... is she cold? but just her neck is cold? and the bitchy fashion stylist who makes Lily look ridiculous (while causing Lily to become a binger/purger big time)... I'll bet a dollar that Gloria's husband, Jeffrey Bardwell, killed Ji Min. Remember you heard it here first. not that ever watch or anything... I just heard.
  6. Tapping her would be an accomplishment in one sense -- like breaking into a cave where the world's entire supply of PMS was stored -- but not much fun, I reckon. Usage of the verb "to tap" someone makes me pissy. Larry's comment made me forget about that for a moment.
  7. Sign me up! This is my dream trip.
  8. The Patriots had plenty of time and 3 (?) timeouts at the end of the game to win the game; a questionable call in the 2nd quarter wouldn't have made a difference if they had played their usual comeback game. And what would create more press than two Mannings winning back to back Superbowls? If the Patriots had gone undefeated, certainly. You answered your own question. edited to add smiley.
  9. Nobody seemed to care (except maybe Baltimore) when John Elway basically did the same thing way back when. San Diego was compensated nicely; they're pretty happy with Rivers. What's the big deal? Conn, sorry about your Pats. It was a tough game for you to watch, I'm sure. You're as gracious as ever. Even though I wasn't rooting for the Pats, the thought of the 72 Dolphins yammering away about their record makes me weary...
  10. I would give these guys carte blanche to design and create whatever they wanted. The house would be in the woods with a body of water nearby.
  11. ( I finally figured out the multiple quote thingy...and the lifting of smilies from other boards thingy)
  12. He's spoken plenty over there. Why should he here? Yeah, you're right. You're speaking pretty well for him, I guess.
  13. well.... all I want to say is that seeline has never taken anything but the high road in this situation since she has been here, which I truly respect. She adds immensely to the board discussions. Their loss is most certainly our gain. (and certainly John Kelman could speak for himself, eh? )
  14. It's quite appropriate that the website could read as www.No Jazz Fest.com.
  15. I don't think one can gauge loving jazz music by how much one writes on bulletin boards. Some people express themselves by writing; others express themselves in other ways; others just like to listen and learn. Obviously. This is absolutely correct. Plus, how the hell do people expect the women to write more posts when it takes both hands to operate the vacuum cleaner properly? I've been waiting for this!!
  16. somehow you doubt I'm a woman? It's just that when i searched for female members in the search function, your name did not come up. My apologies if i offended you in any way. Oh, not at all. I see your point (about the search function). 7/4 didn't have to search to know that I'm female from prior conversation on the board.
  17. Amazing! I thought I was less transparent. I'm too busy to post because of my archery and stuff like that. I don't think one can gauge loving jazz music by how much one writes on bulletin boards. Some people express themselves by writing; others express themselves in other ways; others just like to listen and learn. Obviously. edited to add quote and a few more words.
  18. In that case, I gotta see it ! If you haven't seen at last some of R. Kelly's "Trapped In The Closet" then you'll miss a good deal of the humor in the South Park episode. There are more episodes after that (and another "season" just came out recently), but that'll at least get you up to speed. I remember when I first saw R Kelly's Trapped episodes 1-5 (yeah, I know... but it was *that* bad that I couldn't turn away... ), I knew it was ripe for parody. Can't get any better than Southpark!
