  1. Some neighbor kids defaced the sign and covered up the r-i-v-e. The homeowners association got right on it and replaced it.
  2. Happy Birthday, guys!! I think you both should come to Indy on Friday for organissimo, and I'll sing happy birthday to you, Marilyn style....
  3. Yeah, I think I'll be there... and I'll be representing! My contingent is numbered at about 25, including my boss(es) from work. Another friend and her husband are driving up from Louisville KY/Southern Indiana area. It's going to be a great night. I hope Rob Dixon is in the house with his saxophone!
  4. My parents live on "Canoe Court", which isn't terribly odd. However, two intersecting streets near them are named "Courageous Drive" and "Tenacious Drive". You'd think it was a perilous trek instead of the 'burbs. The recurring theme is sailing (Bowline; Skipjack; Redsail; Jib; Running Tide; Windjammer and so on...)
  5. Really ?!? Bet you haven't met the majority of them OK.. let me rephrase, then. "There must be a few women somewhere who might love the idealized perception of a gentleman from France". If there is no such thing, then my bad. Happy Birthday anyway.
  6. All women love men from France! Happy Birthday to someone who always makes my heart flutter...
  7. Well, Coltrane is just a big sweetie! (said in my deepest 'doggy voice') I love these stories. Prior to these situations the weirdest (but cutest) thing I had seen was my male cat, Steely, who loved to sit and groom my male Schnauzer, Myles. They would sit on the couch for hours and Steely would lick around Myles' ears as if Myles was one of his kittens which would put Myles in this meditative, trancelike state. They're both gone now which makes for a very quiet and somewhat empty-feeling home. I wish I had the space and the schedule for a big dog like Coltrane.
  8. Italy.... Lake Como Realistically, I would say either the Pac NW or the East Coast to be closer to one of my brothers (one in Seattle; the other in Philadelphia)
  9. ... and many, many more!!
  10. Yes, when all is said and done, this is what I will choose to remember about that day and what will ultimately help me heal. The headache for me is thinking about all of the details that need to be done like replacing all of my keys, getting a new car registration sticker since the one I just renewed was in my purse awaiting to be affixed to my license plate. Just getting into my house was a 3 hour ordeal; my spare key that I had made just prior to the trip didn't work--I didn't find that out until arriving home at 8:30 pm, and I just got into my house at midnight. The locksmith was having a difficult time picking the lock to my front door. Gee, the one time you want to break in easily... But those are just details that will get worked out in time. The bigger picture is that we are safe and sound, at least physically. I'm feeling a little disconcerted, too, which is surprising to me since the break-in didn't happen here. I kinda don't want to go to sleep for some reason. I'm most saddened about Joe losing his wedding bands; that was the most upsetting detail of the entire ordeal -- they're irreplaceable. I pray they will be recovered. Thank you everyone for your concern and well wishes. It has been truly very helpful to read this thread. I appreciate every one of you more than you know. ... and yes, Joe, you will feel better once you get that handprint off the window!
  11. I don't know about y'all, but my money's on New England. Buffalo exposed some serious flaws in Dallas overall game plan. It's New England's game to lose. I could be wrong, but I'm still betting NE emerges as the lone undefeated team after this Sunday. I can guarantee that the Colts will be undefeated after this Sunday. (we have a bye..)
  12. Regarding Randy Moss and his attitude. Isn't it interesting that as a society we give such high praise and accolades to someone for simply doing his job professionally and not acting like a brat. Gee, I have to do my job in a professional manner with a non-bratty demeanor every day, and I just get a paycheck and the privilege of returning to work the next day. edited for typo
  13. Especially when it's all wrapped up nicely in a New York accent. I love him!
  14. I would say this is an accurate statement. "outlandishly rate men walking past our coffee table from 1 to 10." You do that but don't let the guy hear it. Nope; don't "rate". If I did, however, I absolutely wouldn't let anybody hear it. That's why it's called surreptitious. I just don't buy into the "men are visual, women are tactile" thing. Can't women be visual and tactile?
  15. I would say this is an accurate statement.
  16. Big enough in Nebraska, by the looks of it. It also looks like that's his ONLY thing. MG
  17. Rodney's sound/lighting tour truck,
  18. rachel

    Peabo Bryson!

.... or it might make him feel like jogging.
  19. This sounds like it's straight out of a cheesy episode of Starsky and Hutch. I guess the latest is that OJ called the guy (who was allegedly held @gunpoint) later that night saying, "uh...it looks like I kinda got some of your stuff mixed in w/my stuff, so how can I get your stuff back to you?"
  20. We have never used sideline video to obtain a competitive advantage while the game was in progress. Well, not to split hairs, but yeah you did, Bill. The game was in progress when the camera was confiscated. And *that* doesn't even matter since the memo stated that videotaping is prohibited at any time on the field, blah blah.. He did man up and apologize but it's all negated in my mind by the political double speak, "the meaning of is is" BS.
  21. Vermincelli? Oroachiette? (back on topic, sort of)
  22. aloc is a steeler fan. At least we know how to punctuate. Rachel grew up in the 'burgh.
  23. I just have to say... I love this board!
  24. One winning ticket in Indiana... Drinks are on Ra-Ra
  25. I am so so sorry to hear about Moose's passing. I loved his picture on your profile page, and I completely understand why you would want to change your screen name. His memory will live on; he was like a member of the board! Again, my sincere condolences...
