  1. yeah, I pulled the RCAs out because I am needing to cull; they went back in.
  2. Good choices. I have the other two Rod Levitt RCA albums and dig them. The Ornette is wild!
  3. I've enjoyed Masuo's playing on Sadao Watanabe-related records.
  4. Bummer -- and so young. Those later Talk Talk albums are excellent.
  5. ZoKoMa isn't entirely a trio; Barre Phillips and Stu Martin round out the rhythm section on several tracks. I'll add this one:
  6. yep. but it's not on the original AA LP.
  7. I used to have both that and the LT, but decided "Toy Tune" is weaker than "The Collector" and jettisoned it.
  8. rad, great player and a really nice guy to boot.
  9. I have it as The Collector, with a different opening cut and no "Toy Tune."
  10. Flying Nun stuff is probably as or a bit more valuable than many of the jazz records we collect.
  11. me too, bought that on your recommendation, Larry.
  12. lol at "grunge Monkees.' Albini with the wit.
  13. I watched that show in syndication religiously as a kid. Had a couple of their albums as well. Peter seemed cool. RIP. I love that part of Head that's basically Brian Auger, Julie Driscoll & The Trinity going off like Septober Energy. Bananas.
  14. First couple-few Green On Red albums are swell. I tried with the Long Ryders but felt that a good band was marred by overstuffed production and slickness.
  15. nice! I would see a Dream Syndicate/Eleventh Dream Day bill in a heartbeat.
  16. AFAIK Eleventh Dream Day is a Chicago outfit. Caught them at SXSW for that show, quite fun. McNew was subbing for Doug McCombs.
  17. bought a mono copy for fairly cheap years ago; little groove wear on the end of side two (last cut) but most of the record is unharmed. Fine date though I guess my fascination with Hill heads in other directions.
  18. Yeah, he's fantastic, and for the vinyl hunters out there, his records are often overlooked and cheap. In addition to the Bee Hive dates, titles on Interplay and Sea Breeze are excellent. That private press date on Priam is cool too.
  19. The Dyani LP is killer. The Franco D'Andrea LPs with Helias and Altschul are great too.
  20. if you are using google chrome, you can open the article in a new "incognito" window and read freely. great piece.
  21. is there an LP of that? sick.
