  1. Amazing news.
  2. Amazing. It must've been extraordinary. Love that record.
  3. will definitely be getting this. I am not entirely sure but I didn't think Sam Records did CDs.
  4. Allen Lowe sorta does I think? My impression was that he has lessened/narrowed contact in recent years. He's on facebook but never approved my friend request... not that FB is the best platform for any of this, natch.
  5. well, listened to Hot Tuna and Blind Willie McTell last night, so the ICP records are still on the shelf...
  6. Bert Jansch -- Birthday Blues -- (Reprise, US)
  7. Honi Gordon -- Sings -- (Status pressing)
  8. I haven't had Groupcomposing on deck in many years. I was never as into that title as some other early ICP records, but could stand to drop the needle and reinvestigate.
  9. It's an amazing and insane cover image. Kudos!
  10. I saw that obit mix up on the Wolf Eyes twitter (or maybe their instagram) and thought it was a joke. Guess not! Oof.
  11. That duo LP is very cool and under-heard.
  12. oh that's too bad, dug his playing with Naura.
  13. I wish -- it's the gold cover. But hey, it was relatively affordable and it's in great shape.
  14. Gut Bucket Blues & Stomps: Chicago 1926-28 (Herwin) Morton, Wynn, Luis Russell, Jimmy Wade. Very fine.
  15. Don Pullen & Milford Graves -- In Concert at Yale University -- (SRP, US)
  16. sad news, fine player -- I know him from Rahsaan and E. Parker McDougal records. does anyone have b/d and d/d info for him?
  17. Yeah, I enjoy Sal Nistico's playing (have a few of his leader dates and I think a couple sideman appearances), but probably need to spend more time with prime Herd. Indeed, would be great to hear where he could have gone with the material here.
  18. Brötzmann, Aaltonen, Kowald, Vesala -- Hot Lotta -- (Blue Master, FI)
  19. Wow. Happy Birthday to a man with impeccable taste.
  20. I always thought he was, yes.
  21. pretty jive if you ask me, but as I'll be buying the CD set (jazz LP shelves are too full!) I guess I'll have to live without it.
  22. Prince Lasha's nickname for me was Allen's Alley. He'd call and say "Hey Allen's Alley, it's the Peasant Prince!"
  23. maybe Coral or Bethlehem. I would like to check Earth Dance out as well.
  24. Johnny Griffin -- Live in Tokyo -- (Philips, JP)
