An interview I did with him in 2005 is posted here. It was kind of challenging to draw things out of him (especially as this was among the first interviews I did), but he was very sweet and quite funny.

Thanks for the link - yeah, I did, in 2004 or so. It was tough because he was misremembering a lot of crucial facts. Although one I don't doubt him on was his birth year as 1930, contrary to most accounts (said he lied about his age).

He was a nice man.
