  1. Football players and meth - clearly a winning combination.
  2. Nice - I've got the other Dameronia on Uptown and like it a lot.
  3. Dang, so I need both Etcetera and The Collector? Former was easy to find, the latter... not so much.
  4. I have some but not all of this in various forms. Tempting indeed.
  5. Yeah, still trying to see whether I can get a participant's/reviewer's discount!
  6. Yes, Vista is good. I think I got it for a buck, and that seemed like a fine deal considering the music.
  7. Well I stand corrected - must be thinking of somebody else!
  8. the duo recording with mal is one of the most intimate and expressive recordings i have. among others, i escpecially love the beautiful solo extended standards of the 'recollections'. Could it be Favre? Sounds and sort of looks like him. I could swear the Gaumont I heard was far from "free jazz."
  9. I have it and it's superb. Once the Dixon Trust's new website is up and running, you'll be able to purchase Odyssey. PM me and I will help you get a copy.
  10. Sad to hear this - way too young. RIP.
  11. Eremite did a nice job with that - comparing side by side with the OG, it's got great sound and solid packaging.
  12. Man, if this happened on a 3-CD set discussion, just think of where it would have gone on a 6-CD box!
  13. There were some 1967 gigs with Eddy Gaumont, but my minimal exposure to him was not as a "free" drummer.
  14. Maybe my eyes and ears are going out, but I could have sworn it was Pierre Favre!
  15. What the hell is going on here? I also missed the "obviousness" of the joke, but it seemed like the usual internet quip that we can all move on from.
  16. Very nice. Annabelle is rocking the Juba-Lee LP right now.
  17. An interview I did with him in 2005 is posted here. It was kind of challenging to draw things out of him (especially as this was among the first interviews I did), but he was very sweet and quite funny.
  18. Thanks for the link - yeah, I did, in 2004 or so. It was tough because he was misremembering a lot of crucial facts. Although one I don't doubt him on was his birth year as 1930, contrary to most accounts (said he lied about his age).
  19. He was a nice man.
  20. The twitter-verse (via Phil Schaap) is saying that apparently Marion Brown has died. If so, this is sad news.
  21. Crowder with Evans? Nice!
  22. Happy Birthday, and thanks for all you do!
  23. Talk about baritone madness...
  24. Note the Columbia sleeve on photo two above.
  25. Not your only chance. Here's another one that ended with no bids.
