Tag-teaming between reviewing CD tracks for a guest radio spot and jamming A.R. Penck records.

Potts had a couple of LPs of his own without Lacy, also had sideman turns with Robert Wood, Francois Tusques, and others. Excellent player. I agree with Chuck about the sound on these Novus sessions and it was troubling enough that I didn't keep the ones I bought. Also, FWIW, the Lacy-Waldron on Japanese Victor, mentioned earlier, is a quartet. It's very good.

Ah, so that's what the "add to cart" thing is for. I figured you just paid to watch the longer ones on your computer. I found a number of things that would be worth buying on DVD for $10...

It's a really cool record. I also was turned onto it recently by our own "dumpy mama."

Pausing the suckers to get them to buffer seems to work. The sound is a little "transfer-y" like a lot of the NPR podcasts, but it's not every day you get to watch Joachim Kuehn, Jacques Thollot and Earl Freeman jamming!

I can't imagine a later MPS or Crystal Jazz repress breaking the bank. It's usually the Saba and 1st MPS that go for money.

The Alfred Harth-helmed cooperative Just Music will be celebrating their 40th anniversary, or at least of the issue of their ECM LP in Frankfurt this December. Also on the bill: Christian Marclay and Carl Stone. If you're in the area and are interested in free music, it'll be worth checking out. Alfred's a friend of mine, so I gotta plug. Indeed. I have all the Reece BN material on LP or CD, but there's nary a clink in the bunch. The Lee/Christy I def need to pick up. Payday's Friday!

It's all on the boxed set, I believe, save maybe one of the "Carefree" alternates. My ears might deceive me, but I *think* the sound is a little punchier on this reissue.
